"If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must be different from the world."
Hey Tot Spot Family,
We will be CLOSED on April 6th for Teacher Training and conference fun!
We love Snow!! So on days that we are in the clear to go outside, we will be out for at least 5-10 minutes. Please make sure to bring in hats, gloves, coats, and boots if you have them. Also make sure there is always a backup outfit in case we make snow angels or get our clothes too wet. Thank you :)

In the Classroom!
The Smalls
Sensory, Art, Science:
We are excited to rip and crumble magazines, work on our scribbling skills, use scoop and spoons to play sand, and splat paint.
Math:
We will be working on comparing big and little objects and puzzles. We will also see if we can match our new cupcakes to the correct color, play with our number rubber ducks, and work on counting and color recognition using pegs.
Dramatic Play:
We will have a ton of puppet shows, explore nature inside, pretend to be ducks, snakes, kangaroos, tigers, and birds to name a few.
Social-Emotional:
We like to talk to the babies as soon as possible on things that we know they will be practicing soon. We will be introducing the language of gentle touches, friends, and taking turns. We will also continue to work on our sign language.
Zoophonics:
We will be working on Kayo Kangaroo, Allie Alligator, Vincent Vampire this month!
The Junior Scouts & Stuart Littles
We will be working hard to recognize our shapes and colors. We plan on making lots of collages to help review our colors and letters. We are also excited to make baking soda volcanoes during V week and "bobbing" for apples for A week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be able to play outside some too.
Welcome and Goodbye:
Hannah and Lauren moved off to the Scout's room last month and we hope they have lots of fun with Ms. LeAndra and their new friends. We welcomed some new friends into our classroom too. We said hello to Gavin and Graham from the Smalls room and welcomed our new friends Rylan, Lane, Houston, and Scarlet. We now have 11 friends in our classroom.
Because of the number of children in our class we will be opening the 2nd one's room and splitting our class a bit. Don't know how or when...something changes every hour/day around here, but we'll keep you posted.
The Scouts & Stuarts
Happy February!! This month we will be celebrating Valentine's Day so our room will be decorated in Pinks and purples...my favorite colors!! We will be doing lots of fun experiments including a VOLCANO!! Lots of messy artwork as well, like Kool-Aid painting! I can't wait to see all my awesome parents for the Valentine's Day party!! We will also be splitting up the younger and older 2's. Welcome Ms. Sarah to TTS! She will be our younger 2's teacher :)
Sawyers
February is here! We are excited for our Valentine's Day party. Please see the sign up sheet on the door for things we will need. We had some things donated by Ms. Allison so see our classroom for all our art projects. We are beginning to do one to one correspondence and focus on counting in different languages. We are having a lot of time dedicated to moving our bodies and using up our contained energy while we wait for the weather to warm up!
Sherlocks
February is going to be a busy, transitioning month in the Sherlock's room. We start our month off with Emmett's birthday, have our Valentine's Day party, and Miss Blue will be leaving us and we will be welcoming a new teacher into our room. We will really be focusing on working one-on-one with Miss Blue to complete our Kindergarten testing before she leaves to see what all things we need to work on with our new teacher. We start our month off with Kayo Kangaroo, then we move to Allie Alligator and Vincent Vampire, and finish our month off with a review week of those friends. Please remember that if your child has books or flashcards that have been sent home that you put them in their backpack and return them so we can focus on, review, and introduce new cards and books. Thank you!

Healthy Start Wisdom From Ms. Alisha
This February keep your family moving by doing Yoga together! There is a plethora of videos on youtube teaching yoga for families. I know it is hard to find active things to do when the weather is not the best, so find time to move together to work on shedding those winter pounds!
The Book Nook
2 and Younger: Llama Llama I Love You by Anna Dewdney
In Llama Llama I Love You, little llama shows his friends and family how much he loves them with heart-shaped cards and lots of hugs. What could be sweeter than Llama Llama on Valentine's Day?

The Parent's Spotlight!
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for:
- Scrap paper
- Girl Scout cookie orders
- Your cooperation while dealing with the water main break
Would you like to donate?
We could use:
- Items posted on the door of your classroom :)
Is there ever a time when you say to youreself, " I wonder if The Tot Spot would want this"? We could use it in so many ways. You may have babies, but the whole school is yours. Everything can turn into a sensory activity or learning experience. So, before you throw out your junk, ask your teacher if it could be used.
The Teacher's Spotlight!
Question: Would you rather be able to be invisible for a day or be able to fly for a day? Why?
Ms. LeAndra: I would rather be invisible. I'm a nosy person so I could get lot of information if nobody knew I was there!
Ms. Corrine: I'd rather fly so that I can travel the world and hangout at the beach.
Ms. Emily: Be invisible so I could just have some ME time. I never actually get just me time without hearing “MOM!!” In the background.
Ms. Jacanda: Let’s fly for a day! Flying all over the world would be amazing! And you could fly and get food when you got hungry! Definitely let’s fly!
Mr. Mike: Fly so I could see different prospective of life
Ms. Stacey: Being invisible a visiting people at work would be a great day.
Ms. Danielle: I would be invisible for a day. I’d for sure rob a bank.
Ms. Crystal: -I would choose to be able to fly because I have driving anxiety and I’d be able to navigate better.
Mr. Andy: Invisible
Ms. Maggie: I would want to fly. I would want to fly because I could get more done in a day if I could fly
Ms. Mikayla: If only for a day, I'd want to fly. If I got to keep the power forever, I think being invisible would be more practical.
Ms. Katie: I would rather be able to fly for a day. I'd spend my day traveling as far and wide as I could to see new things.
Ms. Hailey: fly so I don’t have to pay for gas for my car lol
Ms. Ericka: Well if my eyelids are the windshields I think I'd rather be invisible. I don’t like bugs at all especially not the squished kind.
Ms. Erin: I'd rather be invisible because then you could find out what your friends and co-workers really think of you.
Ms. Alisha: Neither. I’d rather be able to read people’s minds. But if I have to choose invisible so I can move things around and mess with people.
Ms. Allison: FLY! I love superheroes and want to travel so it would make both things possible!
