Athletic Updates
Athletic season postponed by CIF
Dear Granite Hills Athletes and Families:
The State CIF released a statement stating that the start of Season 1 for high school sports, which was scheduled for December 12, has been postponed until there is updated guidance from the California Department of Health. From all indications, any updated guidance will not occur until after January 1, 2021, so that means any “Official” start date for Season 1 will not be released until then.
We are hoping that the updated guidelines are issued sooner than later, so we can Granite Hills High School athletics up to and running in a way that is safe for student-athletes, families, and our coaches/staff.
Sincerely,
Mr. Resultan
Softball will return with an improved field! Thank you Supervisor Jacob!
Granite Hills was recently awarded a Neighborhood Reinvestment Program grant from County Supervisor Dianne Jacob and The Board of Supervisors to renovate our varsity softball field. The grant amount is just over $50,000 and will be matched by the school. The $100,000 project will begin in the next few weeks and will
include grading, irrigation and sod.

The Show Must Go On!
Granite Eagle Theatre is working hard on a student-directed Zoom one act "The Internet is a Distract-- Oh, Look a Kitten!" by Ian McWeathy. Theatre Club Leaders Aushee Heagney, Tracy Nguyen, and Christina Salzano are directing a cast of 11 actors in this delightful virtual production that shares the challenges of Distance Learning in a fun lighthearted manner.
Director Tracy Nguyen says, "During these trying times, I always found comfort in theatre. Watching theatre productions on streaming services or relistening to Broadway soundtracks. When I found out that we had the opportunity to produce a virtual show, I was completely on board. I'm so glad that I got the chance to direct this show along with my two other fellow directors, Aushee Heagney and Christina Salzano-Ponce. It was a challenge to get this all together because of our very different schedules and the fact that during this time college applications were due. Through hours of planning on various Google documents and sheets we put everything together and got it up and running. We're so excited to show the community our final result. The collaboration within this entire cast amazes me and their hardwork will definitely show once we premiere. "
This production will be filmed and edited by the students and presented to the public on Wednesday, January 13. We hope you can join us!
