Weekly Notes (9-24-18 -- 9-28-18)
Monday:
- I will be attending a conversation with a candidate for the superintendent position at 11:45.
- I am off to MHS afterward to interview to CI candidates.
Wednesday:
- Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Dinner at 6:30 in the cafeteria.
Thursday:
- Half Day: Staff will eat with students, lunch will be provided and on the stage during your assigned lunch session.
- Student released at 12:45.
- ALICE Training begins at 1:00. There should be no children or visitors in the building during training.
- Staff will be dismissed at 4:00.
Friday:
- BIT #1
Notes:
- Book Fair this week!
- Curt and I will begin the disposition process for furniture items in the hallway. Again, please make sure you have taken your things out of the hallways and have extra desks in your classroom.
- Please have your blurb for the Kurtz Connector to me by the end of the week.

Monday:
- Run 4 Fundz Kick off assembly in the cafeteria at 10:00.
- SIT mtg in the STEM Lab at 8:15. Make sure you review our email from last Thursday before the meeting.
- John Tavernier will be visiting the CI program at 2:30.
Wednesday:
Thursday:
- I will be attending a principals meeting at Heritage and returning sometime in the afternoon.
- Curriculum Night!! All staff on the stage for introductions at 6:30.
Friday:
- BEST #1
Notes:
- All extra furniture must be back into your classrooms and out of the halls.
- Please make sure your bulletin boards are up and ready to go for Curriculum Night!
- Thank you all for working so diligently to get your students on task. Your work is making a difference at Kurtz! Stay focused on your Caring Community rubric. Your consistency will make all the difference!
- WIN starts next week! Paras will be finishing up DIBELS work this week.
- Caylan Tyler will be taking over our music program next Monday. She will be attending our Curriculum Night this week. Make sure to make her feel welcome! Susan Graham will finish off the week in music. Thanks Susan for making the two weeks meaningful for our students!!

Monday:
- I have an appointment off site and should be to Kurtz by 11:00.
- 15/15 Tech Spot at 8:15 in the STEAM Lab. This is a staff meeting designed to provide our staff with an introduction to technology based tools. Our first session is focused on video production/green screen and 3D printing.

- SIT Leadership meeting in the conference room at 8:15.
- Fire Drill #1 @ 11:00.

Notes:
- Keep up the great work with our staff Matrix and student expectations. We are making a positive impact on the culture at Kurtz!
- Lunch and recess supervisors are working hard to get to know our students. Please help their work by reinforcing positive choices in the lunchroom.
- Greg is working to get morning announcements up and running. Thanks for your patience. Please make sure you are doing the pledge of allegiance with your students each morning.

- Labor Day - No school
- Opening Day!! Students report!
- Wear your 2018-19 staff shirt!
- Consider Tweeting welcome back pics this week. I am sure students and parents would love to see those smiling faces!
- 3:00 Welcome Back Assembly. Please have all students prepared for our first assembly of the year. I will be going over a few things that include behavior expectations, technology and leadership. We will then get outside for an all school recess.

Notes:
- All staff members are expected to be welcoming our students each morning at 9:00. Let's make them feel welcome each and every day!
- Specials schedules, staff meeting calendars and other important docs are in your mail boxes and available in our Google Team Drive.
- All staff members are expected to be wearing their HVS employee badge at all times.
- Start working on your student expectations matrix this week. All staff can support this charge by familiarizing themselves with expectations and using the same verbiage with students.
- I can't tell you all just how excited I am to have you all back in the building. You have been missed!
