A Message from Principal Wiegand
Hello Bel Air families,
It was so fun meeting our Bel Air families the last two days. Watching the excitement of students and families as they toured Bel Air, met staff and friends was heartwarming! On behalf of the Bel Air staff, I want to personally thank you for your support and look forward to partnering with you to make this the best year for your child.
A few reminders:
School Hours:

To ensure the safety of everyone, please review the following arrival/dismissal procedures. We ask for your patience the first few weeks as everyone gets accustomed to these procedures.
Arrival/Dismissal procedures:
Student drop-off (AM) The back parking lot is our dedicated drop-off and pick-up loop. For the safety of our students, this is the only location that students may be dropped-off or picked-up by parents or family members. Students must remain in the car of their parents until 8:20 a.m. Student entrance before 8:20 am is not permitted. Please use this map to review procedures for entering/exiting the back parking lot during arrival and dismissal times.

Student pick-up (PM) The end of the school day is 3:15 p.m., carpool students will be grouped by grade level and waiting on the blacktop. Please continue to pull forward as space allows and stay to the left of the solid yellow line. If you don’t have a carpool sign for your visor, we will provide one the first days of school.
The Visitor Parking lot should only be used during drop off and pick up if there you have business in the office.
From 8:00 - 8:30 a.m and 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. we are requesting NO left turn from 5th Street NW if you are heading east. You should proceed to Hansen Park and turn around in order to turn right into the driveway. Do not make a U turn in the intersection of 5th Street NW and 17th Ave. NW. As you exit from the Bel Air driveway you should turn right going west on 5th Street NW.
Walker/Bike rider information
Students may enter school using the playground door or the front door depending on which way they are walking toward school. The first bell will ring at 8:20 a.m., students should not arrive prior to 8:20 a.m. Bike racks are available for use. We ask students to walk their bike to the bike rack once they are on the sidewalk in front of Bel Air. We will continue to have patrols with adult supervision at the corner of 5th Street NW and the Bel Air drive by the visitor parking lot.

Duties include filing taxes and insurance, reconciling our budget, issuing checks for reimbursements and special expenses, etc., and participating in the monthly executive board and regular PTA meetings.
Please reach out with questions or to express interest.
Please complete the Online Data Verification for the 2022-2023 school year
If you haven't already done so, please make sure we have the most up-to-date information for your student in our system for the upcoming school year by completing the Online Data Verification in ParentVUE for each of your students before the first day of school on September 6th.
Incorrect or outdated information prevents us from being able to contact you with important information and inhibits our ability to reach you in case of illness or emergency.
To update your information please see the directions below:
● If you already have a ParentVUE account, please log in and click the Online Data Verification button in the upper right-hand corner. Complete the updates as requested.
● If you don’t yet have a ParentVUE account, first follow the ParentVUE Set Up Instructions, included, here, to create an account. Next, follow the Online Data Verification Directions, here, to log in and complete your enrollment.
New Payment System for Student Meal Accounts
The Nutrition Services Department is using a new system for meal accounts this school year called Titan Family Solutions, which has replaced PayPams. All existing account balances have been transferred to Titan automatically, but families need to create an account on the new platform in order to continue adding funds.
Click here to create an account with Titan and add money to your child’s meal account. Instructions are available here.
Rock the SchoolHouse - Buy Your Tickets Today!
The Mounds View Schools Education Foundation is happy to announce that the 10th anniversary of Rock the School House is taking place September 24 at the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center.
This event is the Foundation’s flagship fundraising event and primary source of revenue - the more money we raise, the more our students benefit! The MVSEF’s support has funded initiatives ranging from the kindergarten center’s libraries all the way to post-secondary support of the Equity Promise Scholarship Program.
It promises to be a memorable evening filled with great food and drink and a few special activities have been added in celebration of our 10th year. Buy your ticket today!
Non-Academic Personal Property:
Students should not bring personal items such as toys, card collections, or any similar items to school. These items may be misplaced or stolen and can be a disruption to learning. If a teacher wishes to have students bring such items to school for a special event, parents will be notified. We appreciate your support.
Did you reply ‘STOP’ to a text message?
Did we send you one-too-many text messages that caused you to reply ‘STOP,’ in frustration? If so, please know that replying ‘STOP’ to a single text message automatically unsubscribes you from receiving all future text messages from any school or District office. Please consider resubscribing so you can receive future emergency notifications, and we’ll do our best to limit our text messages to critically urgent information that is as targeted as possible. To resubscribe, simply call or email any school main office and ask to be resubscribed to all text messages.
Students Can Now Receive Text Alerts
Parents, you can now add your child's cell phone number to ParentVUE so they can receive text messages and robo-calls about school closings, significantly delayed school buses, emergencies and other alerts. To subscribe your student to these occasional urgent messages, read the easy instructions here.

Riding the Bus and Food/Drink
While riding the bus, students are expected to keep all food and drink in their backpacks. This expectation prevents choking incidents, exposure to life-threatening allergens, and promotes bus sanitation.
Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
Phone Numbers/Staff Directory
Staff phone numbers and email addresses are available on the Bel Air Website at: Bel Air Staff. To reach a teacher via email: firstname.lastname@mvpschools.
