Mrs. Nash's Fifth Grade

Fabulous Fridays!

We are beginnning Fabulous Fridays rewards days this week! Every week, students will have the opportunity to earn Fabulous Friday. Students must have all work completed and turn-in, no more than 1 check in their passports and earn a designated number of dojo points (given for being on task and following directions) in order to be invited to Fabulous Friday. Students who are invited will be able to eat lunch in the classroom, get a treat, and will be able to watch a movie or play a game with their friends.

If you would like to volunteer to contribute goodies for Fabulous Friday, please write me a quick note in your child's agenda. Treats may be individual bags of chips, goldfish, juiceboxes, individual packs of cookies, crackers, mini cupcakes, individual ice cream or popsicle treats or small treats such as pencils, erasers, etc. Thanks in advance for your help!

Sebastian McKenzie

Congratulations to Sebastian for being selected this week's character captain!

Valentine's Day

Students are invited to bring Valentine's for their classmates on Friday, Feb 12th. The only requirement is that if they choose to bring valentines, they must bring one for every student in the class. A class list was sent home in the children's Friday folders. We do not have a Valentine's party.

This week students can purchase candy grams for $1 or valentines for the classroom door to benefit Relay for Life.

GMAS Informational Session for Parents

The fifth grade teachers will hold an informational session this Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 6:00 p.m. Flyers were sent home in the last two Friday folders. Please return the bottom portion of the flyer if you plan to attend. We are trying to get an estimate of how many parents will attend to help us determine the location of the meeting. We will be sharing information with you regarding the upcoming Georgia Milestones test and ways that you can help your students prepare at home and reinforce as we help them prepare at school.

Holiday Reminders

Monday, February 15th is a Teacher workday and a student holiday.

Early Release dates are Wednesday and Thursday, February 24 and 25. Sign up forms went home in Friday folders. Please select three times that would be convenient for you and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule. You will receive a confirmation in next week's Friday folder.
