Letter from the Principal
Dear Black Bear Families,
We hope that everyone is able to enjoy some sunshine this weekend. Please join our Family Transition Night Google Meet on Tuesday, March 16 at 5:00 PM. I will be sharing details for what parents, guardians and students will experience during hybrid in-person school. This is also a reminder that hybrid will start on March 29th for PreK, Kindergarten and 1st graders and then on April 5th for 2nd - 5th grades. Our time together will also include details for parents regarding students arriving at school and dismissing from school. I will include some basic details for what “a day in the life of a Tualatin Black Bear student” will be like.
Please make note of the following:
Arrival & Dismissal Times & Information
Morning arrival: 7:50 - 8:00 AM
Morning dismissal: 10:50 AM
We are asking parents to drop off students at the parking lot sidewalk or near the flagpole. Students will then follow the bear paws on the sidewalk to the front door under cover area and wait on a bear paw until the doors open according to the morning and afternoon hybrid schedules.
Afternoon arrival: 12:05 -12:15 PM
Afternoon dismissal: 3:05 PM
Students will meet parents at the flagpole or on the parking lot sidewalk. School staff will assist directing students to cars by the parking lot curb as in the past. We ask that all parents stay in their cars and display the sign with student name(s) and teacher name. Please socially distance on the upper sidewalks or a bear paw while waiting.
Week of March 29th:
Grades PreK, kindergarten and 1st start new classes for 100% online and in-person hybrid
Grades 2-5 start new class placements and follow current distance learning schedule
Week of April 5th (Pending confirmation of Governor’s orders):
Grades 2-5 start in-person hybrid and 100% online continue regular distance learning schedule
Again, please join our Family Transition Night Google Meet on Tuesday, March 16 at 5:00 PM using this link. This meeting will be recorded for families to view at a later time. Link: https://meet.google.com/fdp-ccsm-joi This will be a time for parents and guardians to get information with time for some informal Q&A .
