Dear Families,
Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 15.
We know that the back and forth between in person and distance learning is challenging. We want to remind you that the Learning Lab is open during this period of distance learning and transportation is available. Please call the front office to register. On behalf of the faculty and leadership of Desert Wind, we are looking forward to a successful re-opening on February 22nd. We hoped that we would be able to safely stay in school and have the staffing needed for our in-person classes during any necessary quarantines, but this unfortunately was not something we could accomplish. We encourage you to continue to be proactive in your communication about illnesses and please keep students home if there are any signs of illness.
We have some information to share with you about 8th grade promotion! There is a tentative plan which is subject to change or cancelation. Each student will have a limited number of guest spots for promotion. Social distancing procedures will be in place. Our 8th grade promotion is tentatively taking place at Maricopa High School on Tuesday May 25th at 7 PM.
Third quarter ends on March 5th, which is followed by Spring Break. Fourth quarter resumes on Tuesday, March 23rd.
Thank you,
Carlos Alvarado

What a cool activity to really get kids thinking about how civilizations were made and how they would have engaged with one another!
