The Eagle Express
Antrim Elementary School September 10. 2021
We have completed another great week at AES. The building was full of smiles and learning! The teachers are doing a wonderful job introducing our core values, revisiting the Zones of Regulation, building caring classroom communities. Coming up later this month, we will have an Open House. We will run the open house in two sessions so that we can provide ample room for social distancing. More information will come out next week. Also, mark your calendar for picture day. It will be October 5th.
I hope you have wonderful weekend!

Please consider stopping by to purchase a treat. We will be found in the lot between Antrim Marketplace and Appleshed Realty from 9 to 3 (or until we sell out). 3rd Graders Learn about Zones and Distance
Third graders have been busy exploring the ZONEs of Regulation which is part of the social-emotional education at all elementary schools in the district. They also had fun while developing their awareness of 3ft during math.
First Graders at AES
First grade is off to a great start this year with loads of exploring inside and out. Students in Ms. Hartshorne's class are building a strong learning community already and love their forest classroom (except when the mosquitoes are after them!!). It’s great to be together again!!First-graders in Mrs. Donovan's room have been very busy too! This week, they had a great time exploring new math materials with help from Ms. McLaughlin, the school district's elementary math coach. First-graders investigated and discovered how the Cuisenaire rods help us think about numbers. They also love doing the math warm-up Which One Doesn't Belong, where they notice many differences among the images and explain their math thinking to their classmates and teacher.
Join Us for Our Annual Title 1 Meeting
Conval Community Forum Invitation
The ConVal School Board, working with the ConVal Administration, is pleased to announce its first ever Community Forum.
The ‘public comment’ periods at the beginning and end of the School Board meetings have been a source of frustration for some in the community. Board meetings are designed to conduct the business of the District and therefore there is limited time for meaningful dialogue between the public and the Board.
We have listened to our community and in our ongoing effort for full transparency we have structured this Community Forum to allow for discussion on community selected topics with questions to and answers from the school board and administration. The Board and Administration look forward to hearing from our nine communities in a constructive and flexible manner.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, September 30 at 7:00 PM to attend our first Community Forum at the Lucy Hurlin Theatre located at the ConVal High school.
More information will follow with details about the forum, and how to participate in a survey to determine forum topics. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with our communities with this opportunity for a more open dialogue.
