Created By Paige J

Clary has been hidden from this world that her mother didn't want her to know about, but she eventually sees it. Her mother then gets taken by things from that world and goes missing. Is Clary's mom alive... or not? Can Clary find her mom?

Summary

Clary is a teenage girl who lives with her mom. She doesn't have a dad, but a guy named Luke is the closest she has to a father. She has a best friend named Simon as well. Everything is normal for Clary until one night when her and Simon go out to a club. Clary sees a guy being dragged into a closet by bigger men, but when she asks Simon if he saw it, he says no. That there isn't anyone being dragged into the closet. After a while, Clary goes in the closet to see what happened to the boy. That's when Clary meets Isabelle, Alec, and Jace. While she's in the closet they find out she can see them and Clary finds out that only some people are able to see the 3 of them. Since Clary can see them though, they have to take her to the institute where shadow hunters live. That's when Clary gets introduced into a mysterious world that her mother and Luke have been hiding from her since she was little.

Why do you think the author wrote this kind of book? What was the lesson learned?

I think the author wrote this kind of book to show readers she has a good imagination and that it would be such a different world out there if you just suddenly saw things that you've never seen before and that your best friend might not be able to see. The lesson learned in this book is that you have to be careful with who you trust and even though someone may be your father or your adopted family, they can still lie to you and cause you to be hurt. Another lesson is that sometimes hiding things from people may seem like it will help them in the long run, but sometimes it won't help and they'll be behind on the things you've been hiding from them. Another thing is that you shouldn't take for granted the people you love because you never know when the last time you'll ever see them is.

If you could trade places with any of the characters for one day, who would you trade with and why?

If I could trade places with any character for one day I would want to trade with Clary. I would want to trade with Clary because she has a really good best friend that loves her, and not only in a friendship way, but actually loves her. She also has a really nice mom and a nice almost dad named Luke who cares for her and protects her. Not only does she have them, but she has a brother named Jace who would die for her. He is very smart and Clary can get him to make good choices when he's doing things not only in battle, but just whenever their out. Another reason why I'd choose to trade places with Clary is because she's a shadow hunter so she has the ability to see things that most people can't see. She is also able to draw things, which are called ruins, on her body with a stele that will help her heal faster and a lot of other important things. Overall, I would want to trade places with Clary so I could see the things that normal people can't see.
