Dove Pre-K Newsletter
February 6 - February 10, 2023
Hi Pre-K Families!
Did you guess the Groundhog would see his shadow! Yes, he did! Six more weeks of winter! We hope that you got to have some relaxing time at home with your children reading, playing and talking together!
February is a great time to go over our Drop off/Pick up schedules in Pre-K! Attendance is so important and since we missed school last week, let's try to have perfect attendance and no tardies in Pre-K for the rest of the month! Please do not send your child to school sick! We understand that they need to stay home if they are sick to get better and recover. Please however have your child at Dove at 7:20. Plan the night before to have your child get ready for the morning. Set out clothes, get your book bag packed and set an alarm for your child to wake up to. You can get an old fashioned alarm clock. Make sure they are getting to bed early and they are rested for school the next day.
Dismissal is at 3:00. Please respect our dismissal time. Have your name card with you daily. If you cannot be there at 3:00, arrange to have someone pick up your child. Make sure they have the name card provided and they are on your list to pick up your child. You can call the office and add people as needed.
Remember to dress for the weather! Make sure your child practices putting on his or her coat, hat and mittens. Have them practice putting their mittens in their hat and then push the hat in their coat sleeve so they don't lose their cold weather belongings. Also please remember to send sneakers in daily if they wear boots to school. Please label everything!
Remember- Our school Day starts at 7:20 and Ends at 3:00. Attendance is very important. Please make sure your child is at school every day unless they are sick.
Please remember to check your child's red folder and take out any papers sent home. As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Please only send your child to school in sneakers. We go to P.E. every day!
Thank you for your continued help and support! We appreciate our families!

Theme 6 : On The Move
This week, children will learn about many types of transportation used all around the world that take people from one location to another. They will learn that types of transportation can be categorized into three groups: land, air, water.
Thematic: Transportation is a way of traveling from one place to another place. People use many types of transportation all around the world.
Literacy: A Sentence is a collection of individual words. Words can be separated into two parts and blended back together.
Reading: How Do We Get There?, Traveling Across the Tundra and many books about the Winter and Winter Holidays.

2. Be on time - Please be in the pick up line at 3:00.
3. Email or send a note to your teacher and the office if you are picking your child up early or making different dismissal arrangements.
Can I eat lunch with my child?
YES! We welcome families to come eat lunch with their child. So that our teachers have time to teach and practice lunch routines with their students, lunch visitors will be allowed beginning the week after Labor Day.
Due to limited visitor seating, we ask that families use the sign up below to ensure they have a space to sit when they come to lunch! Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. We ask that you only choose one slot per week to allow for other families to also enjoy lunch with their students. You are welcome to share this sign up with a family member that may not have received the newsletter. Don't forget your ID when signing in to visit during lunch! Please call the front office if you have any questions! Thank you!

A few reminders for our Pre-K families
A few reminders-
-Bring a water bottle/Snack each day
-Please pack an extra change of clothing in their backpack
-Please check their red daily folder and initial it each day. Please remove any items that are to be kept at home.
-Please label all of their belongings!! This helps us so much.
-Please have your child wear sneakers or closed toe shoes because we are very active outside and in PE.
- If there is a change in your child's dismissal, please let the office know! We are very busy during the day and cannot always check our email. Please notify the front office of any changes.
-Our conference period is from 12:45-1:30. Please feel free to reach out to us during that time to communicate any concerns you may have.
-Please bring your dismissal tag in the afternoon when you pick up your child. We are finding that more and more Pre-K families are leaving them at home. These are imperative to a safe and secure dismissal system. This is extremely important! If you need a new dismissal tag, please let us know.
