NEWS FROM DR. CHAUSSEE
This week the Grace Abbott staff was awarded the Millard United Way traveling trophy for having the highest staff participation in this year’s United Way fund drive. We were first place among the 25 elementary schools in the district for the sixth year in a row. I bring this to parent’s attention to brag somewhat about the staff. I see daily many ways that the adults in our building show they care from helping a student find their hat in the lost and found to counseling a student going through a severe family issue.
This year we created opportunities to make student giving a little more fun including a flash fundraiser which raised $800 in thirty seconds. We raised over $1,500.00!UPCOMING EVENTS

IB PROGRAM
Elementary Parents and Guardians, Millard Public Schools prides itself on being a district of choice, providing a variety of opportunities and specialized programs that allow parents and guardians to choose the best path for their students. One of these programs is the highly-acclaimed International Baccalaureate Programme, currently offered at Aldrich Elementary School, Black Elk Elementary School, Millard North Middle School, and Millard North High School. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is a method of instruction focused on inquiry, the development of critical thinking skills, reflection, and the application of knowledge. IB encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for college and life beyond school.
As you begin to think about your student's transition to middle school, we would like to invite you to Millard North Middle School's International Baccalaureate -Middle Years Programme Parent Information Night. The annual information night is Thursday, January 16th from 7-8 pm at Millard North Middle School. Please join us to find out more about the IB Programme and Millard North Middle.
