Important Message from Dr. Cain
March 16, 2020 ~ To all WSD Parents
Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through a number of items related to this extended school closure. We understand and appreciate you have many questions and we are working to provide you with all the resources and answers you need. As we have previously shared, we will continue to provide frequent updates as we adapt to these evolving circumstances.
Learning Opportunities
Teachers and staff have begun working on continued learning plans that can be completed at home by students during the extended school closure. After spring break, we will communicate with parents and students with more information about continued learning plans. In the meantime, we encourage families who are looking for possible learning activities to utilize our recommended resources: Parent/Student Resources
Parents and students wanting to pick up items
We are providing times at our schools for parents and students to pick up items including medication, personal items, etc. Beginning at 12:00 Noon tomorrow (Tuesday, March 17) until the close of the normal school day, and during what would be your normal school hours on Wednesday, March 18, parents or students may stop in to pick up those items. In an effort to keep everyone safe, please refrain from congregating or remaining in the building longer than necessary.
Meals for Students
We will be providing daily grab & go meals for students at the three high schools in a drive thru setting from 11:00am-12:30pm. The District will prepare lunch and breakfast for the next day at each distribution. Here is a link to those details.
Please check the website and our social media pages for regular updates. We appreciate this is a challenging time for everyone and we will work to keep you informed throughout the closure.
Thank you,
Curtis Cain, Ph.D.
Superintendent
