Senior Spotlight

This month's senior spotlight focuses on sister Kathleen Knox. Kathleen is an extremely involved sister on Drake's campus. She is involved in many clubs and organizations. Kathleen holds many leadership positions within these organizations. A few of these include being Vice President for Rainbow Union and Publicity Chair for Drake Environmental Action League (DEAL). She is also an active member of Tri Beta, a Biology Honors Society, and is an economics tutor on campus.

Kathleen is an extremely active member of the Theta Eta chapter! She has participated in many social events, sisterhood events, and other Alpha Delta Pi activities. But, her favorite Alpha Delta Pi memory is when Theta Eta won the synchronized swim competition during Delta Gamma's philanthropy, Anchor Splash, this year.

Alpha Delta Pi Informal Recruitment

Just a few short weeks after Formal Recruitment, the ladies of Theta Eta were recruiting again, this time through an Informal Recruitment. Theta Eta hosted a week long recruitment celebrating the end of summer. Events included a luau, a crafting night where sisters and guests painted flower pots, and an ice cream social. The ladies of Theta Eta welcomed five wonderful women into the sisterhood of Alpha Delta Pi at the end of the week. Please join Theta Eta in welcoming the following women into our sisterhood:

  • Beth MacNab
  • Katherine Allbritten
  • Ella Vasquez
  • Ida Bjorkquist
  • Alysha Hoyt

We are so excited to get to know these women better and share our love for Alpha Delta Pi with them!

Ronald McDonald House

Our sisters have already visited the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Des Moines this semester. While there the sisters made dinner for the families and were able to receive a tour of the facility. We are so fortunate to have a RMH location so close to campus. Our sisters look forward to visiting RMH more later this semester. We are also looking forward to hosting a Fall Philanthropy event to raise funds and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House.

Alpha Alumnae Ice Cream Social

Theta Eta is so fortunate to have such amazing Alpha Delta Pi alumnae in the Des Moines area! Theta Eta's Standards Advisor, Amy Tincher-Durik, hosted an Alpha-Alumnae Ice Cream Social at her home to welcome all of the new Alphas. Alphas were able to meet and bond with alumnae members, and even had the opportunity to plan future Diamond Dates! Thank you Amy Tincher-Durik for everything that you do for our chapter and its members!
