Cougar Chronicles
August 26, 2022
Dear LSE Family,
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! In my 16 years as a head principal - this has been the BEST first week ever! Thank you for helping to make this week simply amazing! Students are excited and engaged in building their classroom family communities. It is so nice to see everyones faces and to see true interaction! We have MANY new families to LSE this year and I am confident they will quickly be brought into our family circle.
We know everyone is working to get used to being back in the swing of school! To top it off we have a new schedule! Everyone is tired! Please help your children by getting into the routine of a scheduled bedtime and by keeping those electronics out of the bedroom - it really does help!
We know there have been some transportion snags - we are working hard to get all of those straightened out and streamlined. Thank you for being patient.
Please remember students can enter the building at 8:55 am. The tardy bell rings at 9:10 am. This means students must be in their classroom at 9:10, not walking in the front door at 9:10. We utilize every minute available for instruction so attendance matters. Let us know if we can help in any way!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tracy Sanders, Principal

Thank you for helping us!
LSE School Safety Considerations
- If students forget something at home, there will be an "Oops" table outside on the front porch. Familes can leave the item on the table with a sticker on the item - student's name/grade/teacher and we will deliver the item to the classroom.
- If a student is tardy or brought to school late - the adult dropping off the student will call the office at 816-986-3340 - state the reason for being late. The student will be welcomed into LSE.
- Visitors and Volunteers will be allowed back this year after the first two weeks of school. Lunchroom visitors will be welcomed to eat lunch with their child.
- No visitors are allowed on the playground or past the cafeteria without prior approval.
- Volunteers must go through district training and be vetted through our vistor management system.
- All visitors will be greeted through the intercom system on the porch.
- All visitors and volunteers must enter and exit through the front door on Green Street, check in through the office, and wear a visible badge.
- Please SLOW DOWN through our school zones on Green and 2nd Street!
- Please Stop and Wait for our crossing guards and be courteous of our school buses.
- Parents of Car Riders can not line up until after 3:45 - we have students on the playground until 3:45.
- Please DO NOT drop students off in the middle of the street on Wilson or Green Street - we can not see them around cars and buses - that is what our car rider line is for!
