The Bremerton School District is pleased to welcome Kimberly Powell as the principal at Naval Avenue Elementary School starting in the 2022-23 school year.
Mrs. Powell comes to the Bremerton School District with experience teaching grades K-6 in both whole-class and Title/LAP roles in the South Kitsap and Pioneer School Districts. Mrs. Powell believes strongly in collaboration and working alongside staff to create fun and joyful learning environments for students and adults. It is important to Kimberly that every staff member, student and family member feel valued and included in the important work that happens in our schools each day.
“We are very excited for Mrs. Powell to join the Naval Avenue and BSD administrative team,” said Brittane DeBard, Director of Elementary Education for the district. “Her experience as a district leader and a building leader will be value added and her genuine care for our community and students was apparent in all of her interactions.”
Mrs. Powell earned her Bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University, her Master’s in Education from Grand Canyon University, and her educational leadership certification from Western Governors University.
Mrs. Powell and her husband, who works at PSNS, live in Kitsap County with their three children ages 13, 16 and 20. She comes from a family of educators, including both of her parents, and brother.
