A Wrap on Testing

This week we were able to finish up our state testing as our 5th and 8th Graders took their AZ Science Test on Thursday and it offiically means we are done for the 20-21 school year. Thank you for all of your efforts and help with full day attendance through this period. We are now entering the last month of the school year and will continue to finish strong all the way through May.

We want to remind everyone that next Friday, will be an early release at 2:00 pm. As usual, walkers will be released at 1:45. DVUSD has released information to all parents in response to Gov. Ducey's Executive Order this past week. DVUSD will continue to operate all campuses and facilities with mandatory face masks for all students, staff, and visitors as of right now. Next Tuesday, the DVUSD Governing Board will meet and this will be a topic of discussion. You can livestream the meeting at 7:00 pm.

Navigating Covid as a Family & Summer Strategies for Self-Care

Aurora Behavioral Health will be hosting a Live Zoom next Wednesday, April 28th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm for our community. The presentation will be "Navigating Covid as a Family and Summer Strategies for Self-Care". During this presentation we will offer strategies and skills for families throughout the summer. This is a Free Event and part of our partnership with Aurora Behavioral Health this year, be sure to save the date!

Spirit Week & Teacher Appreciation Week May 3-7

Student Council has planned our final Spirit Week of the year. Check out the attached flyer to see each day's theme. This will be the last chance to celebrate Spirit Week this year so be sure to have some fun.

May 3-7th is also Teacher Appreciation Week where we celebrate all of our amazing teachers here at SV! If you would like to write a kind note or shout out an SV Teacher, post your message to our Teacher Apperciation Padlet for them to see.

  • Here are a few items for April at Sierra Verde
    • The Parent/Student input form is posted on our website and will remain available through 5/1 for our K-2 families.
    • Next Friday will be a 2:00 PM early release for staff development.
    • School Tours are available for prospective parents. Visit this link to schedule your tour in May, or June.

    Dress Code Reminder

    We are doing daily dress code checks in our middle school grades. Please be sure that your kids are dressed appropriately for learning. We would like to make you aware of the following in particular:
    • no hats/hoodies on during class
    • no spiked accessories/collars
    • no excessively ripped/revealing clothing
    We want all of our students to come to school in comfortable clothing ready to learn. We thank you for your attention to this matter.
