Help your child get healthier with the 21-Day Challenge!

The challenge evaluates snacking habits before, during and after the three weeks. We are looking at frequency of snacks that include chips, cookies, candy, soda, energy drinks, fruits and veggies. Parents, please help your child keep a log of their snacks both during and after the challenge.

Sorting and analyzing catchy leads

Fourth-graders this week worked in groups to sort and analyze catchy leads in mentor texts. We are working on adding voice to our own writing. Some catchy ways to begin an essay include:

  • Describe a setting
  • Offer an amazing fact
  • Tell a short anecdote
  • Quote someone famous or someone you know
  • Use strong verbs to describe action

Morning drop-off reminder

Students do not need to wait for someone to open their door to exit to the curb.

As long as the line of cars is stopped and you are next to the curb, please have your student(s) exit on the curb side and walk along the sidewalk to the Pod 3 doors.

This will greatly improve the wait time and reduce tardies. Thank you!
