Family can come in all different forms and colors- it's the unconditional love that counts.
The Secret Life of Bees
A book filled with adventure, risk, and a sense of unconditional love you can only find in a family-or can you? This book has it all; a sense of mystery, a little romance, and thrill. It's the perfect coming of age book where the main character, Lily, doesn't just find her sense of self and maturity, but she also finds a sense of family along the way and secrets of the past. This book leaves you with suspense all the way until the last page. You begin to question if Lily will ever find anything about her deceased mother? Who are the Boatwright sisters and what do they have to do with her mother? Will her emotionally abandoning father ever come find her? And lastly, did he kill her mother,or did she? Throughout the entire book I found myself constantly trying to act like Nancy Drew, theorizing all my questions yet to be answered.
In all, this is a great book that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a pleasent, but yet thrilling feel-good novel
"There is nothing perfect...there is only life."
Life is not perfect, nor is anything else, but there is always beauty in imperfection.
"The hardest thing on earth is choosing what matters."
Keep your priorities straight and you will always choose what's right, even if it's risky.
"Let the puzzle of the human heart be what it is."
Love is complicated and so is the mind which creates it.
