Welcome Back!
I hope you had a restful and fun summer break. School starts up in a little over a week. As the proud principal of Eastlake Middle, I want to make sure you have a smooth transition back to school. I look forward to partnering with our parents/guardians for a great year of learning and growth. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns and/or comments. Our staff is here to support you and your family. I cannot say enough about the quality of our teachers and staff members. They are truly special. We encourage you to join our PTSO. They are great parent/guardian group that helps our school tremendously. There is more about them in a section below. I hope you enjoy some great family moments this week and I will see you soon. If you want to know a little more about the school or my experiences, please visit our website at elm.sweetwaterschools.org.
1. For 7th Grade Parents ...
A. Student orientation for 7th Graders is on Friday, July 20th in the ELM pavilion. It will be a great day of connecting with the school and other students. While this is not mandatory, we think it will be a fun and informative transition to our school. The program will start at 8:00.
B. New Parent/Guardian 101 Presentation. Please join me and support staff as we conduct our own orientation with parents. Please join us at Eastlake Church located off Otay Lakes Road. We will meet in the main auditorium at 9:00 AM. So, drop your kids off to orientation at the school and meet the principal and other staff members!
2. For All Parents!
A. School starts on July 23rd at 8:15. We encourage you to drop your child off early on this day. It is a minimum day and students will be released at 12:51. Students will be directed to an assigned classroom to pick up their locator cards. We will have this list posted around school as well as on our website.
B. Please visit our website for information regarding the purchase of PE clothes, yearbook, and spirit gear. PE clothes will be pre-purchased this year and picked up in their classes. We also encourage to look at the website for updated information about important dates, protocols and web tools such as Jupiter Grades.
C. This year we will launch our Triton Traits series that will address the social and emotional well-being of our students. Please see the flyer below for our new mission statement as well as our Core Beliefs that house the Triton Traits.
