Principal's Message
Happy Thursday Cougar Families!
The quarter 2 progress report closed today and grades will be sent by email next week. Please look for report card notifications via email around Wednesday, November 16.
I know it is difficult to imagine that we already have our sights set on next school year but I think it is important that we share our 2023-24 school calendar with you. It was approved on Wednesday evening at our governing board meeting. Please use this calendar to help make your traveling arrangements.
We are also finalizing our Intent to Enroll Online Application for the 2023-24 school year. All future Cougars must submit an Intent to Enroll Online Application to be considered for enrollment next year. We expect to make it live during the first week of December so let your friends know and don’t forget to get your siblings signed up!
We hope you enjoy a safe and happy weekend. Please take a moment to thank a veteran for their service and reflect on the sacrifices that past and current veterans are making so we can do what we do everyday.
Scott Parr
CEO/Principal

Upcoming SCHS Safety Drill
On November 16, at 11:15am, SCHS will be partnering with law enforcement to conduct a lockdown drill. Lockdown drills give the students and staff a chance to practice the steps we would take if we needed to maintain a heightened state of readiness in case of a potential community threat. During this drill, traffic onto campus will be stopped. Please adjust your drop-off/pick-up time to avoid arriving on campus between 11:15am and 11:30am on Wednesday, 11/16. Thank you for your help and support.
SCHS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
With the holidays quickly approaching, SCHS PTO is pleased to host our Annual Pie and Cider Day for staff. It’s a great opportunity to share our gratitude and appreciation with staff for all they do to support our students and school community. If you would like to contribute items for the event or are available to help set up/clean up, please check out our Sign Up Genius link (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4aada92aa7fbc34-schs1). Thank you in advance for your support to make this a festive and successful event.

Say Something Week
Next week, our community will participate in a week-long campaign to create a safe, healthy school. Say Something Week is a program that was developed after the Sandy Hook tragedy and is designed to teach you why and when you should seek help and Say Something. We will be discussing how to recognize when someone wants to hurt themselves or others and the importance of taking action by telling a trusted adult.
How you can make a difference:
Watch your peers on the broadcast explain how to create a safe community and make the pledge to take care of one another. On Wednesday, wear green to show your support. (The Cougar Den class with the most people wearing green wins a pizza party!)
