Dear Henking families:
We have just completed our first week of adaptive pause and I hope that everyone has experienced a smooth transition. Please review the adaptive pause reminders in this memo.
Also, in this memo you will find information for picking up your child’s Color Portraits packet for those who have pre-ordered. If you did not pre-order, you can pick up your child’s complimentary postcard calendar with a ticket code should you want to order pictures at a later time.
Lastly, please know our school office staff and administrators will continue to work in the building during the pause, so please feel free to reach out to us if you need to.

ADAPTIVE PAUSE REMINDERS
Illinois state law requires that the taking of attendance (including entering absences and tardies as well as contacting parents of students who have not been reported as absent). During adaptive pause, all classroom/homeroom teachers will take attendance everyday.
Parents should call or email their school attendance office if their child will not be participating in class for the day at (847) 657-2694 or email@example.com.
How can families continue to support during adaptive pause?
Dedicate a learning space at home. A space that is ready for learning (has supplies including pencils) and in view of an adult.
Provide breakfast/lunch prior to beginning the session.
Limit distractions when possible (turn off the television, use headphones, etc.).
Ensure your child regularly attends classes, just like when we are in-person
“Commute” to work; take a walk before or after school to get some exercise and be ready for learning or power down after a long day.
