Inclement Weather
Dear Parent:
Inclement weather plans for the 2018-2019 school year will be announced on the air in one of the following ways:
- Northwest Schools will be closed.
- Two hour delay. - This means all schools will start two hours later than usual. Transportation will begin two hours later as well.
- Third Time Frame Delay or Closing. This would mean all public and private school sin the Northwest School District that are in the third time frame will be delayed or closed. These third time frame schools are:
- Monfort Heights
- Taylor Elementary
- Colerain Elementary
- St. Ignatius
- Mt. Healthy Math & Science Academy
If a delay is called for these third time frame schools, it will be for 2 hours. Once a delay is called, parents should stay tuned to local media in case the delay must be changed to a closing. This situation would occurr if inclement weather occurs after transportation services has already begun for students attending schools that begin earlier, and road conditions are worsening. The announcement that will go to the media will be "Northwest Schools Third time Frame Schools are Delayed" or "Northwest Schools Third Time Frame Schools are Closed."
4. Early Dismissal - This annoucement would mean the district would be transporting private and public students home early. Parents need to have a contingency plan in order to deal with this circumstance. In addition, parents will need to remainin contact with local media if adverse weather conditions occur during the school day to determine if Northwest Schools is going to transport students home early. The announcement that will go to the media will be, "Northwest Schools will Dismiss Early". The length of early dismissal will also be announced such as "1-hour" or "2-hours".
Special Note Concerning Kindergarten:
On days when there is a two-hour delay, morning Kindergarten will be cancelled.
