CLAWS Club Award Winners
District Chorus
Congratulations to the Willard Chorus students who made District Chorus! In addition, a huge shout out to Alex Armstrong and Taylor Livingston for making the Southern Regional Chorus.
8th Grade: Angelina Chapa, Amy Calvaresi (2nd Alternate), Zobia Farhan, Danny Hillard, Sarah Kennedy, Yosh Krupa, Faith Lee, Grace McBride, Ashleigh Neimeyer, Grace Oat, Sunny Prasad, Zoe Rand, Jaila Scott-Sears, and Ian Skolarus.
9th Grade: Alex Armstrong, Taylor Livingston, Isabella Schumacher, Reagan Speier, and Allison Tran.
9th Grade Band & 8th and 9th Orchestra Performances
On Tuesday, November 12 our ninth grade performed amazingly at their fall performance at John Champe High School. Under the direction of Laurel Phillips and TJ Miles, our musical scholars were outstanding. To keep in the musical spirit, our eighth and ninth grade orchestra students filled the air with musical magic on Wednesday, November 13. With maestro, Robby Carroll, at the helm, these brilliant minds showcased their musical prowess.

Latin Club Food Drive
Our Latin Club is running its annual food drive. They are collecting food to benefit the Dulles South Food Pantry. This exciting opportunity runs until Friday, November 22. We would love to surpass our total from last year, so please check out the list of needed materials. Students may donate in the name of administrator or Latin teacher, Mr. Boscovitch. In doing so, the administrator/teacher with the highest donation totals will be wearing a turkey costume the day before Thanksgiving Break--EXCITING!
Winter MAP Testing Coming Soon!
Students will be participating in the winter MAP testing starting with the English assessment on Thursday, December 5. On Friday, December 6, students will take their math MAP test. The winter assessment allows us to gather additional data to support students as they grow as academic scholars.
Project Lit Was a Blast!
Lightridge Walk & Jog "Turkey Trot"
Lightridge High School will be hosting a Walk/Jog with the Principal on Saturday, November 23, beginning at 8:00 am in the Willard Intermediate parking lot. The event is a 2 mile “Turkey Trot” on paths and sidewalks. All ages and abilities are welcome to attend, and the course is stroller friendly. Refreshments, following the Turkey Trot, will be provided by our friends at Ford’s Fish Shack. This will also be our last Walk/Jog with the Principal until the spring. Feel free to dress in costume, if you so wish , nd we hope to see you in the Willard parking lot on November 23.
Winter Clothing Drive Partnership with Riverside
Recently, Sources of Strength has partnered with Riverside High School to help gather *new* fuzzy socks for the local Barnett-Searing National Cancer Foundation. These socks will be part of "smile kits" given to those in need. For every three items donated, students will receive one hour of community service, which could be used on future leadership applications. Please drop off your amazing items in the house offices. This effort will run until Friday, December 13.

New Bus Dismissal Procedures Start November 18
In order to better facilitate a smoother end of the day, ensure that students are riding the correct buses home, and to maintain a safe and orderly environment, at both Willard and Champe, we will be implementing a revised dismissal process. This new process will begin on Monday, November 18. We look forward to the new process!

Holiday Craft Fair: Vendors Wanted
Calling all artisans, bakers, crafters, small business vendors, direct sales representatives, and creative thinkers everywhere! The Willard Intermediate PTA will be hosting a Winter Bazaar on Saturday, December 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We are looking for local vendors to provide a fun and varied shopping experience before the holidays. We would love to have Willard families involved! Sellers must have goods on hand to sell. Coming Soon: Champe's Tuck Everlasting Rendition
This month, Champe's Avalon Theatre Company is bringing their rendition of the classic tale, Tuck Everlasting, to stage! This masterpiece, based on the iconic story, will entrance those of all ages. Come on out to see a great show and support our Willard students in the play! Tickets are on sale now at http://champehs.booktix.com. Tickets can also be bought at the door.
Performances will be on November 21, 22, and 23, at 7:00 p.m. In addition, a matinee has been added for November 23 at 2:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!It's Yearbook Time!
