Lady Cardinals play on Tuesday night at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough for the MIAA Division 3 state semi-final volleyball tournament. The big game begins at 5 p.m. against north champions Lynnfield. This past Saturday, the girls swept Fairhaven 3-0 for the south title.

Marching Band National Champs

Congratulations to the Joseph Case High School Cardinals Marching Band for its first place victory this past weekend at the Division 1 Open USBands National Championships at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Case received a platinum medal and received caption awards for best music, best percussion, best visual, best overall effect, and best color guard. In addition the marching band received the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps Award for Excellence for its overall effect creativity and pursuit of excellence. We are grateful to all those adults who help our marching band students, especially the overall direction of Rick Cordeiro. You will be able to see our national champs at the halftime show on Thursday, November 24, at the annual Case-Somerset Football Game.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Please join us for two nights of Parent-Teacher Conferences at Joseph Case High School on Thursday, November 17 and Monday, November 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. No designated days and times based on last names: come one night or both nights ===> whatever fits your schedule and needs. Guidance counselors can meet with families both evenings. Refreshments will be available in the Learning Commons as well. Teachers will meet with families on a first-come, first-served basis. Please limit conferences to five minutes out of respect to others in line.

Here are some great tips that were shared with me on Twitter last week for teachers to make the experience better for families:

Post-November 8 thoughts

Whether you are really happy about last Tuesday's result or really sad, this year's presidential outcome is a reminder to all of us that our voice indeed matters. Let us take this transitional time in the United States to recalibrate -- reminding us that our opinions are not better or worse than our neighbors, that together we can make a difference, that positivity is a choice, and that in our own way, each of us CAN lead.

Peace,

Brian
