Connecting Families and School Through Communication!

Dear Edgewood Families...

Current and Upcoming Events:

Tuesday, March 10 through Thursday, March 12- PARCC ELA (English Language Arts) testing for grades 3-6

We are pleased to note that so far PARCC testing at Edgewood has gone smoothly. We have been so proud of the kids:

  • The students have worked hard with effort throughout the entire testing sessions.
  • The students have noted that even though the tests are challenging, they can still show what they know!
  • The students are focused and relaxed.

Many thanks to our parents and teachers who have ensured that the right amount of encouragement has been a part of our students' preparation.

The District's technology support has also been outstanding, so that these computer-based tests can occur as scheduled.

Student Council Solea Water Shoe Drive

Edgewood's student council has voted to bring back the Shoe Drive through Solea Water again this year. The shoe drive at Edgewood will provide clean water to the world! Solea Water advertises it's shoe drives as a way to turn one person's trash into a way to help others. Shoe drives are the way that the company funds water and sanitation projects around the world. Visit their website at www.soleawater.org/shoedrives for more details. Edgewood's shoe drive will be from March 16th through March 27th!

The 5Essentials Survey- Still Open Until March 20th

Due to snow/cold days, as well as County Institute and other days off for students throughout the State, the window of time was extended for Illinois schools to collect the 5Essentials Survey information from their families.

If you would still like to look at this survey, and provide input that focuses on school climate and academic support for students, please visit this link:

After selecting the "parent" button, the survey will ask you to type in our school's name and our county- DuPage.

Thanks, again, to everyone for their time and input!
