Look what's going on..

Wow! What a great lunch of pizza, fruit, cupcakes, and of candy. Thank you to our parents that organized that for us!

We will have our second writing assessment on Monday Nov. 5th and there is no school on Tuesday the 6th.

Today, students were given an list of options for thier newest social studies project. The project will be independently completed outside of class. Students will do all research in class on the Industrial Revolution, but this project will require that they take what the learn and connect it to issues that we face today. The project will be due on Nov. 30th. If students have ideas about the project, they are welcome to share those with me.

We are now studying Algebra in Math and Force and Motion in Science. We are also beginning a research project that will take several weeks. Students are publishing stories on a site called, storybird. Please ask your child to show you their story. Also, if you have not joined our website please do when you have a chance.

A special thanks goes out to Hayden's dad for the great pictures he took during our meeting at Winthrop.

Last week, I sent home a note about Nov. meetings for our learning expedition. Students are asked to attend as many of those meets as they can. We will be creating watercolor paintings of our organisms. So, it will take us a while to draw out the organism and learn to use the watercolor paints. It would be great if students could bring an old shirt to put on during those meetings. If anyone would like to make a donation toward this, we are going to be using 400count watercolor paper, it comes in a tablet and drawing pencils. I have written a grant to help pay for some of the costs, but have not heard back from the district.

We will have short quizzes weekly on social studies and science content over the next several weeks. Students should study their class notes. I will let them know the dates.
