Seniors: Class of 2020
What is happening in the world of Seniors...
Be on the look out for the Twinsburg Local Scholarships to be posting in February. We will notify seniors of these opportunities when they are posted! Be sure to check out the Scholarships page on the School Counseling Website for additional private scholarships that are available. The website is being updated continually with new scholarships!
Graduation is on the horizon! Be sure to keep in touch with your Class of 2020 Google Classroom for updates on Important Senior Information. Seniors recently took a Google Survey for the Counseling Department to inform us of their future plans. Seniors should be in contact with their school counselor with any academic concerns regarding graduation and finalization of post-high school plans!

College Trivia Week!
We had a blast raffling off college paraphernalia and enjoyed the participation of our students and staff in the Trivia! Plus we all learned a lot!
We had over 150 Senior Submissions for College Trivia Week! We were also able to provide a $300 Book Scholarship to one lucky senior!!!! Our Senior winner of the College Trivia Week and book scholarship was Sami Gunn! We cannot wait to hear about her finalized plans and to see how the book scholarship helped her!
Juniors: Class of 2021
What's happening in the world of Juniors...
Juniors took the PSAT back on National Assessment Day! Their scores were released online via College Board to students on December 10th! Students have access to their scores through their College Board Account. Counselors will also be handing out paper score reports during the Scheduling Process during the month of February!
Juniors are currently working on creating their resumes now in their English 11 classes. Mrs. Toni Cluse, our Career Specialist Counselor, is in classrooms helping them to build their resumes and add them to their Naviance Accounts.
Save the Date: Tuesday February 25th: ALL JUNIORS will be taking the ACT here at THS. This ACT is offered free through the Ohio Department of Education to all juniors in the state of Ohio. THS will register students for this offering of the test and take care of the payment. Students will receive additional information closer to the test date, but they will take the ACT here at THS during the school day. Students will be able to use this ACT for college admissions.
For Juniors planning to apply and attend a 4-year college directly out of high school, they should be working on finalizing their college admissions test scores. Juniors have now been exposed to the ACT and the SAT (by taking the Pre-ACT sophomore year and the PSAT junior year). Many students have already taken a national ACT or SAT test as well, which is great! Along with the FREE ACT being taken on Feb. 25th, students should also be planning to take another ACT in the Spring and an SAT in the Spring. This will give students full access to both college admissions tests, allowing them multiple scores to have to send to schools that they apply to. When students enter their Senior Year, we will be hitting the ground running with the college application process. Students will have TONS to do with starting their senior year and will not want to have the worry of still needing to take their college admissions exams! If they can reach their desired score during their Junior year, they will be in good shape!
Juniors should also be planning on campus college visits! Spring Break is a perfect time to take some visits on campus to schools on your top 10 list! Reach out to those schools now to schedule a visit! Many universities have Junior Days coming up as well! Be sure to check out school websites! Students should be making their Colleges I am Thinking About list in Naviance!
Sophomores: Class of 2022
What's happening in the world of Sophomores...
Sophomores are busy focusing on rounding out the year academically strong while also starting to determine what pathway they have an interest in following: Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed.
Students received a copy of their Pre-ACT scores in our Sophomore Counseling Session on November 6th! Their PreACT scores were reviewed, along with possible career pathways.
Students can utilize Naviance to focus on career interests through the Career Interest Profiler!
Freshmen: Class of 2023
What's happening in the world of Freshmen...
Freshmen have also experienced their first midterm exams! We are so proud of how our freshmen are handling the transition to THS! We are seeing great gains in their comfort level and success!
Freshman will be participating in a Practice ACT exam in the Spring! The official date of this practice exam is TBD... more information to come!
