When was the last time you cleaned up your Google Drive?



Sphero is launching cybersecurity lessons targeted at middle school students. You can download the lesson on the Sphero website - You may need to create an educator account to access all parts of the lessons. The labs teach and reinforce the principles of digital hygiene and ethical computing use so students know how to keep themselves and their community safe. The labs also showcase how illegal hackers commonly attack networks and devices as well as the steps that cybersecurity professionals take to stop attacks so that students build a foundation for going deeper into cybersecurity education and careers.

Take the Quad Cyber Challenge!

Designate an hour, a day, or more during April 10-14 to take action to improve cyber hygiene and learn how to continue to keep yourself safe and your devices secure!

Schools and individuals can sign on to the Quad Cyber Challenge through the sign up form, and check out the activities on to:

  • Protect your devices (change passwords, enable multi-factor authentication, etc.)
  • Avoid common scams
  • Learn more and share with others

Curious and new to Canva? Join us starting April 17, 2023, for 5 mini-sessions introducing the basics of Canva! In this course, you will learn several topics that you can utilize in your classroom: creating a free teacher account, using templates, presentations, worksheets, email signatures, and more! Earn 5 SCECHs upon course completion. The first 20 educators that register will receive a REMC SAVE goodie bag!

"I STEAM, You Scream!" We all scream for EdTech Tools! Join us on April 25th, 2023, to learn about some of the latest additions to our Maker/STEAM materials checkout program! Some of these new tools include digital microscopes, Finch 2.0 Robots, Thermal Cameras, new VR functionality, and more! Come spend the day with us having fun, learning about these new tools, and making meaningful connections to your classroom curriculum. SCECHโ€™s will be available for participants.

2023 Innovation Camp

June 20-22, 2023: Join us for a two-and-a-half-day video creation and editing event. Educators will bring a team of up to three students to participate in project-based learning centered around video creation using iPads, iMovie, green screens, YouTube, and collaborating skills. Student teams will showcase their videos in a Kids' Choice Awards, TeamJXN style, on day 3 of this event.



Inserting Smart Chips in Google Sheets

Insert smart chips in your Google Sheets to include information about:

  • Users with Gmail or Google Workspace email addresses
  • Other Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides files

With a smart chip in your spreadsheet, you can hover on or click a chip for more information.


Michigan YouTuber Alexis Dahl

Alexis Dahl is a science communicator, writer, artist, and YouTube channel host based in Michiganโ€™s Upper Peninsula. Prior to moving to the U. P., Alexis was the managing editor for The SciShow, a Youtube Channel which produces educational science videos for 9 million subscribers. Currently, she hosts her own channel, producing videos about science and history in the U. P. Check her out at

Recipients may use their grant award on any of the hundreds of STEM, MakerEd, and computing technologies available in the Eduporium store. Girls Who Code - Summer Camps

Girls Who Code offers two FREE programs in the summer: the virtual Summer Immersion Program and the Self-Paced Program. Applicants can apply for BOTH programs, if eligible, using this application. However, students can only participate in one summer program.

MS/HS Computer Science Teachers

MiSTEM Network has announced that applications are open for the 2023-24 MS and HS workshops. These 9-day professional learning series equips educators with the ability to teach a middle school computer science course, AP Computer Science Principles and CSA.

Joy of Coding - High School Coding Class

Course Dates: June 21 - August 2, 2023

Course Format: completely online, no scheduled lectures

Course Cost: $125 + tax, need-based financial aid available


+ students must be 13 years or older

+ No prior coding experience is required!

+ Have taken high school algebra

+ Have a desire to learn

+ Are able to commit 4 - 6 hours a week and chip away at the material daily

Students will:
+ Have weekly asynchronous coding lectures/assignments using an interactive textbook
+ Learn to code at their own pace with support from Michigan ECE faculty and students
+ Have our commitment to help you get unstuck when learning to code - everyone gets stuck somewhere, at some point!
+ Receive a certificate of accomplishment to bolster their college applications
