Science Fair & College Week!
This is a busy week for us. We have College Week and the Science Fair. I want to thank Jennifer E., Veronica C., and Jessica H. for working to make these events wonderful for our students. I would also like to thank the staff for being flexible with all of the adjustments.
College week brings assemblies, guest speakers, activities, and dress up days. Please review the email from Jennifer E., or look at the "What's Happening" section to stay caught up.
I am excited about the Science Fair this year. Students and parents have made the choice enter their projects and I can't wait to see what they discover. The cafeteria will be closed to display the projects and for judging. Please review the email from Jessica H., for more information.
Due to the MOY MAP achievement results we are hosting a Parent Meeting this Thursday. Sara and I will be leading the meetings with support from members of the curriculum team. All staff are welcome and encouraged to attend. Be sure to send the 1/2 sheet home with students Monday afternoon. A phone message from me will follow.
The training with the Momentous Institute has been eye opening. As a result, four teachers (Elizabeth, Deanna M., Dorys, & Carla) have been selected to learn more about the philosophy and incorporate some of the strategies into their daily routines with fidelity. We will be collecting data to learn how these adjustments affect student achievement.
One major philosophy of the Momentous Institute is student choice. The four teachers mentioned above will be intentional about offering student choice; however, this is something that each of us can do. One way is to offer students choice with the work that is displayed around the building. It is awesome to see the great work they are producing so keep em coming.
This is a reminder that "unknown" district personnel will enter the building using doors other than the main entrance. They will see how much of the building they can access before being addressed by staff and escorted to the main office. We got this!
Thanks everyone and let's have a great week!
That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...
Kudos
