Welcome Back!

Humanitas Magnet for Interdisciplinary Studies

Big picture

Welcome to the Humanitas Magnet!

In the Humanitas Magnet, we treat every student like an individual. We know that starting a new school year comes with many challenges and not everything always goes as planned. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email so I can help you find a solution right away. My email address is amc8418@lausd.net.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Tuesday!

Grant High School Website

If you're not already familiar with the Grant High School website, it's really the best place to find out what is happening on any given day. The calendar is updated frequently. You'll also find a staff directory so you can easily email any of your teachers.

Los Angeles Valley College

All of our 9th graders will take their first college class this semester. The class is called Health 11 and it counts as your high school health requirement as well as a college class. 9th graders will have the class during either 2nd or 4th period and we will support them throughout the semester.

We will help everyone register for the class, but it's important that everyone completes the LAVC application to be accepted into the college program. The application is not difficult, but students will probably need some parental assistance. Please visit lavc.edu to complete the application. When you receive your acceptance email (it take a few days to a week) you will get a student ID number. Please write it down and save it in a few safe places. I will ask you for it next week.

If you are having problems completing the application, I will have assistance for you during class time.
