Little Rock Nine
-Little Rock Nine took place in 1957.
-Little Rock Nine was a group of African Americans that where inrolled into little rock highschool.
-Their enrollment was followed by the little rock crisis. This was when students where initially entering the racially segregated school by Orval Faubus.
-The impact this had was with the case Brown v Board of Education. This case ruled that it was unconstitutional for segregation in public schools.
-September 4th 1957, the first day of classes at central high Governor Orval Faubus called in the state National Guard to bar the black students entry into the school.
- Later in the month President Dwight D. Eisenhower sent in federal troops to escort the Little Rock Nine into the school
-This is what ended segregation for this high school and also set and example for other schools.
