7th Grade Health
Periods 1 & 2
Welcome to Health!
I'd like to take a moment to welcome you and your child to my 7th grade health class for periods 1 & 2. There's a lot of information, but we'll get through it all and try to have some fun while doing so! :) Each week (typically on Monday) I'll send home a newsletter to let you know what's taking place.
Edmodo
We will use Edmodo quite a bit throughout our class. Students will use it to submit assignments, continue class discussions, give feedback on things, such as a video, etc.
We have already had a couple of quick discussion items posted on Edmodo for students to respond to.
I've also stressed to our class that they need to get in the habit of checking Edmodo each day for things posted by me, but also by their classmates.
Responsibility and Questions
As part of our first day activities, we spoke at length about responsibility and taking ownership of their academics. As one way to achieve this, I have asked that students email me (instead of you, there parents) if they have questions, concerns, etc. Of course, if you have questions, you can still email as well, but I do appreciate your support with them. :)
This Week...
We are continuing our conversation about peer pressure, advocacy, and good decision making skills. We will also add in the topics of stress and anxiety.
On Friday, students will take the 7th grade Health SLO (Student Learning Objective) Pre-Test. It does not count for a grade. It measures what students MIGHT know about the topics covered in 7th grade Health.
