Water Pipes/ Bringing Literature to Life

Dear parents,

What a fun and exciting week we've had here at school. On Monday we started the month with the celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday. That day we went to the playground to make oobleck to celebrate the book "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" written by this wonderful author.

Our fun didn't stop there; Wednesday was as crazy and entertaining as it could be! As soon as we came to school, PK 4 invited us to their book presentations where we saw them sing, dance and recite different parts of the books their were studying. This activity was followed by our PK 3 rotations and finally with the Elementary Parade. All students looked amazing with their Llama Llama red Pajama outfits!

Don't worry, we didn't forget about water pipes. In the classroom we had a sand table where they had to use their creativity to build a pipe line. When they came to the play dough center, they could use the water pipes to create new things. On Friday we had a ball using the water pipes to make bubbles and simply play around with them. Look at all the fun we had!!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Bartholomew and the Oobleck

As a special activity, PK 3.2 went to the playground to make oobleck using cornstarch and water. What a messy, sticky but fun activity!!

Water Pipes

Fun Under the Sun!

After trying out the large pipes in the classroom, we decided to test them outside using water. Check out what we created.

Reminders!

  • As part of a few activities this past month, we have allowed students to bring certain toys that are related to the topic. I have notices that some children in the class have started to bring toys on a daily basis that has caused a distraction in the class. Children are not allowed to bring toys to school so please make sure to keep them at home.
  • On the 21th of March the PTA in union with ISP will be holding our annual Family Fun Fair. There are still some slots for parents to volunteer for the "Face Painting" stand. If you are interested please email Patricia Martinez (Sofia Martinez's mother). I hope all of you can make it.
