Wheeled Cultivator
Wheeled cultivators were invented in 1920. These turned soil and uprooted weeds.
Railroads
In 1804, the first steam-powered railroad was made. Railroads helped transport cotton far faster than they could with ox carts.
Barbed wire
Barbed wire helped the farmers keep cattle from eating cotton plants. This was a huge problem before barbed wire was invented in 1874.
Invention of the Cotton Gin
The cotton gin was an invention that separated the cotton and the cotton seeds. It was invented in 1793.
Extermination of the Boll Weevil
In the 2000's, the government started pushing to exterminate a pest known as a Boll Weevil, which fed on cotton plants.
