Ms. Horras's Class Writes to Make a Change - Keyboards for Grades 3-4

Ms. Horras's class wrote persuasive letters to Jeff Harrison, Director of Educational Technology, to explain why students in 3rd and 4th grade need to have keyboard cases with their rental iPads. The students talked about how keyboards would help them form good typing habits right from the start. Keyboards would help with typing long essays on state tests, they would help when typing on Canvas, and would just help them prepare for their future jobs.

Mr. Harrison loved the letters so much, he came to Sand Creek yesterday to make a personal visit to the kids. They were so excited to meet him. He answered their questions and really helped show them that personal letters and letters of persuasion can possibly make a difference.

COVID Test Kits Available for Families

The Indiana Department of Health has supplied HSE Schools with COVID test kits to provide to our families.

Test kits are available for families to pick up at the school, or if your student is being sent home from school with COVID-like symptoms, the nurse will offer to send a test kit home with your student.

Testing does not take place in the school by nursing but can be sent home for a parent/guardian to perform.

Each test kit contains 4 tests. The test kits expire in August.

Withdrawing Students from SCE

If your student will not attend SCE for the 2022-2023 school year, please notify our school registrar Cher McCord at cmccord@hse.k12.in.us or call 317-915-4270.

Immunization Requirements

Now is the time to think about getting your student prepared for next school year. The State of Indiana requires a student to be compliant with their immunizations to attend school. It can be difficult to get your student into your doctor's office before the start of school, so HSE Schools and the Fishers Health Department would like to help. HSE will be providing Onsite Vaccine clinics throughout the district this summer and special hours at the FHD Vaccine Clinic to provide the State-required immunizations to your student(s). Please watch for information regarding the dates and how to register via social media, Parent Square and the HSE website.

SCE Senior Celebration - Welcome Back and Best Wishes

The graduating Class of 2022 returned to walk the halls of Sand Creek one last time! It has become a new tradition to welcome back all the graduating seniors that attended SCE during the years! There was laughter, tears, and excitement in the halls as we had a Senior Parade followed by breakfast.

We wish all of our former Cougars all the best as they graduate and move onto new adventures.
