CENTRAL ELEMENTARY
September 16, 2020
Welcome Back!
We're so happy to be back in school and things are progressing smoothly! We are working hard to make this year feel like any other, even with restrictions and masks.
-If you ever need a transportation change, please call the office no later than 2:45 so we can notify the teacher and your student.
-Car rider line is moving well now! The majority of students are picked up by 3:25! Remember to have your red pick up tag on your dash everyday as you enter the drive for pick up. If you do not have one, we will ask that you park and present an ID to confirm approval for pick up. This will expedite the pick up line if everyone has their tag on the dashboard. We will be glad to give you additional tags.
Mask Information:
-All students will need to be wearing a mask as they enter the building. We have lanyards for our students to help them keep up with their masks throughout the day.
-Students will be allowed to have a mask break throughout the day when they are socially distranced from others or in their personal space in the classroom. We will not punish or stress the students out about this. We are working to teach them responsibility and respect to others as we learn this new 'life skill'.
-If your child cannot wear a mask due to medical concerns, please send a doctor's note to the office or the classroom teacher.
Chromebook Information:
-The device your child received will be used as a 'notebook' for all things academic this year. We are working to teach the student how to access all academic information through Google Classroom in the event that we have to turn to remote learning. This will help you in that situation in order to see all the information that we deliver for academics!
-Please send this device charged and ready everyday. If you can send the charger with the device, we will use that as needed, but it is not a requirement. If a student forgets a device, we will have extra to provide to them for the day!
-This device is assigned to your child, so they will have all the login information they need on this device. Help them learn the importance of safety and taking good care of it! Remember to charge your child's chromebook nightly.
Again, Thank you!
In closing, we know there are a lot of unanswered questions and some uncertainty. But, we are all in this together and our number one priority is to keep everyone safe! If you have ANY questions, concerns or frustrations, please communicate with your teacher, administration or other staff. We need your support and understanding like never before. Thank you, thank you for allowing us to work with you and for your child, thank you for trusting us, and thank you for praying for us all as we begin an amazing journey together.
With all our love,
Dawn Verkler and our CE Staff!

The boxes will include five breakfast and lunch meals. Pick-up will take place at the Cabot High School cafeteria every Saturday and Sunday. Parents will be able to select a time slot to pick up their meals for the week.
A weekly menu will be included on the sign-up sheet.
If a parent has any questions regarding the new free meal waiver or weekly meal pick-up for digital students, please contact our Food Services Department at 501-843-3363 or email cpdamealpickup@cabotschools.org.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
Every birthday is special! You are welcome to send nonfood items (erasers, pencils, bookmarks, etc.) to celebrate your child’s actual birthday, but we must reserve store bought food items for our monthly party. Please help us by not asking to send food items on other days! This is in accordance with Section 5.02.04 of the Arkansas Nutrition Standards Rules. Classroom teachers and school newsletters will give more information monthly.
