Distance Learning Weeks 6-8

Adrian Middle/High School

Our Final Three Weeks

Midterms have been completed, and we are moving into the final stages of our school year. A midterm grade report was mailed for every student. Parents are also encouraged to check student's grades and attendance regularly on the Infinite Campus Portal at https://mncloud3.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/adrian.jsp. Please call the office (507)483-2232 for login assistance.

Due to the governor's requirement of planning days on May 1st and 4th, this week's schedule will have classes running on a Tuesday/Thursday and Wednesday/Friday schedule. Students in grades 6-12 WILL BE IN SESSION on Friday, May 8th. The week of May 11-15 will run on the normal modified block schedule indicated below. Seniors last day of class will be Thursday, May 14th, with any final assessments or projects due by Friday, May 15th. All new instruction for students will end May 15th. During the week of May 18-22, students in grades 6-11 will complete any final assessments/projects for their courses. Students with incomplete assignments or who have not yet shown mastery of the content for the distance learning period will be required to work with teachers/staff on reteaching and showing mastery of learning topics during this final week of school. The last day of the school year will be Friday, May 22nd.

Weekly Class Schedule - Modified Block

It's Teacher Appreciation Week!

Big picture

Each class has an attendance question that needs to be answered each day that particular class meets. It can be found in Google Classroom and is used in each class. Teachers will also monitor attendance in Zoom and work completion, but the main form of attendance is the attendance question. We will be marking that attendance in our normal Infinite Campus system so you can see and as a reminder. Daily attendance will be used by looking at all classes, but we will leave individual attendance up for the week so parents can check if their students were checking into class.

Graduation 2020

Seniors and their parents are invited to attend a Zoom session with Mrs. Koehne and the senior advisors, Mrs. Bonnett and Mr. Remme, at 6 pm on Monday, May 4th. The discussion will focus on graduation plans for Friday, May 22nd. We hope everyone will be able to attend.

Reminder, the generosity of our community donations for the banners on Maine Street also allowed us to purchase a graduation gown for each senior. They are expected to arrive at the school no later than May 15th. Please watch for details regarding the distribution of gowns.

Thank you!

We want to thank everyone who took the time to complete our Family Feedback survey regarding how distance learning is going in your home. We have taken many of your comments and suggestions to adapt our instructional process during this unprecedented time.

Contact Mrs. Koehne with Questions

We will work through this process together. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Koehne (507)483-2232 ext. 502 or c.koehne@isd511.net with any questions. I can also be reached at my Google Voice #: (628)246-1787. If things don't go smoothly, please reach out to your teachers. They will work with you. We don't expect parents to become teachers. Our teachers will be providing the instruction and will be available for students who need it - every day. Google Classroom will give the best way to reach out to each teacher.
