Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Centegix Emergency Response System Training for Teachers

This crisis alert system empowers teachers and administrators to act and respond with confidence in every situation, from the everyday to the extreme. When educators and children feel safe and secure, they can get back to focusing on their goals: learning and academic achievement. This Thursday, staff will meet in small group training sessions for part B. Review of procedures and how to use their Centegix badge from anywhere on the Westmoor campus. When an emergency arises, staff simply push the button on the back of their badge and support services will arrive at the scene quickly, due to an immediate notification of where the incident occurs. This new emergency response system will save response time and get the necessary help to our students and staff on scene quicker and more efficiently.

Ram Resort will continue on Tuesday, September 19th from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the library with workshops for our families. The Wellness Team at Westmoor will present and identify early warning signs of physical, emotional and social distress in our students and what steps to take to get the necessary support in place. We know that our children cannot learn if they do not feel emotionally, socially and physically safe.

Fall Semester First Grading Period ends on Friday, September 22nd. Students need to get all make-up assignments and make up tests completed before then. Grades will be released on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Spirit Rally on Friday, September 22nd from 3:45 - 4:45 PM on the football field. Students will be given an opportunity to come together and build community through various activities and team games, with opportunities to learn to work collaboratively and have fun.

Best regards,

Brockton B. Ahrens
