STORY BOOK HOLLOW December 2015
Growing and Learning Together
December is here!
It's beginning to look a lot like...the holidays!
As we say goodbye to November we begin the hustle and bustle of the holidays. The month is full of multiculturalism as we discuss the different holidays that are celebrated in December. Your child will learn about how great it is to be kind and giving to their friends. They will make a special surprise for you and learn many new songs. Please be sure to like our Facebook page and check daily for reminders, pictures and more. The link to our page is on the bottom of the newsletter. Sign up for our Remind messaging system to get all current reminders such as, special events at the school, school closures and special dress up days. From all of us here at Story Book Hollow, to all of you, have a happy and healthy holiday season!
We learned so much in the month of November! All about health and nutrition and what foods are healthy and unhealthy. Also about cooler weather, what happens in the Fall (and that Autumn is another word for Fall) how the leaves fall from the trees and change colors and why this happens.
This month we will learn all about the winter holidays as well as what winter is. There are so many fun art projects planned. Although they may seem overwhelming at times, each project we do helps the children work on their fine motor skills, independence, hand and eye coordination, following multi step directions and it also reinforces topics discussed during circle time. And - it's fun for them to complete the projects.
We can't wait to have our Holiday celebration with all our friends! We'll be singing new holiday songs such as "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", "Santa Clause is Coming to Town", "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel" and play fun games. December will be a fantastic month!
Academically we see huge strides in all of the kids also. Their independent work and fine motor skills start to emerge and the older kids begin to perfect the work they have been practicing since September.
Our themes will be centered around the holidays celebrated in December and the Winter season. Brrr...I know I'm not looking forward to it getting so cold but there a lot of fun projects the kids work on. Plus, an extra special one for you for the holidays. :)
