Program News
🧃Early Childcare Program
It's hard to believe that we have so little time left in our school year. Our goal in ECP was to continue to work hard and be prepared. Our Early Childcare Program has been busy with hands-on opportunities for our students to continue to learn and engage with. To begin the month of April, Judy Segrest from Mesa County Workforce was invited in to share with our program about the scope and sequence of education for Early Childhood along with all the amazing scholarships available to continue their education beyond their CDA certificate. We also teamed up with Horticulture Program for a cross curricular activity. Our preschool children, along with our ECP students, went on a field trip over to Horticulture! The preschoolers had hands-on experience of the plant cycle. The students were shown the plant cycle of the greenhouse then into the classroom where they were able to plant their own seed to watch and grow! ECP also had the amazing opportunity to pair up with Health Science to gain additional knowledge on child development on the Anatomy Table. To close up the month of April, our students were taken on a field trip to Pomona Elementary to again have hands-on experience with children for Pomona's Exploratory Days. Exploratory Days are activities that include learning experiences for the children to use their senses. Some of the many activities that were there were making bath bombs, slime, homemade ice cream, water rockets, football, 4-H animal petting zoo, dash robots, and musical instruments. Our students have gained real-world classroom experience while working with students. It is immensely encouraging to see the positive activities that our Early Childcare Program students have been a part of his month!
🌲Horticulture Program
Thanks for helping our Horticulture Program celebrate Arbor day at Lincoln Park. We sold many plants, flowers, and accessories such as bird feeders made by our Construction Technology students.
The students also recently put together many beautiful bouquets and arrangement of flowers for our D51 Salute To Staff. They were absolutely stunning! You can truly see the hard work and detail made in every bouquet. D51 Rockstars!
