Volunteering - Franklin Central High School Bands

Concert Band

All band, jazz, and percussion classes will be taking pictures for the yearbook during class on Monday. Student will need to wear their concert attire for the pictures. They may bring their clothes to the band room before school on Monday, and they will have time during class to change.

The Marching Flashes had a fantastic performance at the Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional Championships even though the band did not advance to the finals. Thank you to the many volunteers that helped the band kids on Friday and again with the prep on Saturday: chaperones, bus drivers, transportation, spirit, uniforms, props and pit pushers. While it’s disappointing to not perform again, we are grateful to have such a great and dedicated group of parent volunteers!
On Saturday, Franklin Central hosted the ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals. The top Scholastic class bands and their supporters came from all over the state.

We can not give enough praise to all the volunteers, including those who stayed for a longer shift and jumped in wherever help was needed. Thank you to our wonderful students as well! It would not be possible to do these events without you.

Fundraising Opportunity - PepWear

PepWear is offering a fundraising opportunity for anyone 14 years or older. Workers will work at the PepWear booths at Lucas Oil Stadium during Grand Nationals (Nov 10-13). Any worker will earn $10/hr for the designated student's band account. Please use the link to sign up for desired shifts. Signing up here will not yet guarantee you a shift. I will be sending names into PepWear as people sign-up to add to their lists. Shifts may fill up so sign-up as early as you can! If you have any questions, you can contact Connie Moxley at (317) 340-9289.

Color Guard

A note about Missed Rehearsals/Performances:

We are asking all parents and students to review the Marching Band commitment agreement again. It is vital that students attend each rehearsal and performance. An absence should be a very rare occurrence as it impacts the entire team. Students that miss rehearsals may not be allowed to attend the next performance due to safety measures or disciplinary reasons.

Color Guard Show Hair:

Due to time constraints on performance day, students need to arrive to rehearsal with some prep work already completed on their hair. The current show hair requires hair to be straightened, slicked back with gel, and put in a high pony tail. We will insert a weave after practice.
