Eric Litwin to visit Woodland!

We are thrilled to announce that children's author, Eric Litwin, will be visiting our school on January 26! He will do performances for students in K5-3rd grade. A pre-order form for his books will go home in January and he will sign any book that is purchased.

Eric Litwin is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes and three follow-up adventures. He is also the author of the new musical series The Nuts. Eric performs all over the world and is a popular keynote speaker on interactive literacy. He is also co-founder of the Learning Groove. His website is EricLitwin.com.

Battle of the Books Club

Battle of the Books Club is for 4th and 5th grade students. The club meets on Wednesday mornings in the media center from 7:30-8:00. We began our meetings in December and will start back in January.

Winter Break Reading Challenge

Reading is so important, so we want our students to continue good reading habits over the winter break. Each student will be given a picture of a hot cocoa mug and a sheet of marshmallows with reading activities. Students can choose at least 10 marshmallow reading challenges to complete. After they complete an activity, they glue that marshmallow on their mug. Be sure to remember the reading goal at the bottom of the page! Students can also decorate their reading mug. All students who participate will be invited to a hot cocoa party in January! All reading mugs are due by Wednesday, January 7th. Happy Winter Reading!

Our Library Book Tree

Our Library Cadets worked hard and synergized during the month of December to create a book tree in the media center.

WInter Wonderland of Literacy Centers

Students in all grade levels participated in literacy centers during their media center class in December. The students had a great time rotating through 7 centers: listening, games, reading, iPads, art, computers, and writing.
