Letter of Introduction
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I am honored to introduce myself as the incoming Principal of Bath Public School. It is with great enthusiasm that I join this amazing school and community.
Having grown up and lived in the Kingston area for most of my life, I have known and been a part of the LDSB community as a student, parent, teacher and administrator. As such, I am deeply committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning community that inspires students to reach their full potential. I believe in the power of education to transform lives and am dedicated to creating an environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Collaboration and open communication are key pillars of my leadership style. I strongly believe that a strong partnership between parents, teachers, staff, and the community is essential for the holistic development of our students. Together, we will work towards creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.
I am excited to embark on this journey with the dedicated team of educators at Bath Public School, who are passionate about providing the highest quality education to our students. Together, we will continue to build upon the school's rich history while embracing innovation and incorporating new educational practices that prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and getting to know the Bath Public School community. My door is always open, and I welcome your ideas, feedback, and collaboration.
Warm Regards,
Jean Paquin

Transition Visit
Kindergarten Staggered Entry Plan
The kindergarten team has been working hard to prepare wonderful learning spaces for playing, exploring, and learning. To support an easier transition from home to school for our littlest ones, we will implement a staggered entry for Year 1 (Junior) kindergarten students during the first week of school. Year 2 students (SK) will follow a regular schedule beginning on Tuesday, September 6th and attend each day of the first week. Year 1 students (JK) will be introduced through the week in small groups over two days. Please refer to the staggered entry schedule below:
Tuesday, September 5 - Year 2 students only
Wednesday, September 6 - Year 1 students with surnames A - K and all Year 2s
Thursday, September 7 - Year 1 students with surnames L - Z and all Year 2s
Friday, September 8 - all students
This schedule will help all students begin to learn and practice school routines in smaller group settings and will also make it possible for kindergarten educators to get to know their students and their individual strengths, needs, and interests more quickly. We appreciate your support in following this staggered entry plan. If your family is unable to follow this staggered entry schedule, please contact the school by email so that we can plan accordingly.
Kindergarten students and families may be a little nervous on the first day. Our staff will be outside to meet parents and guardians at the kindergarten gate and to greet students at the buses and take them to the kindergarten area.
Our goal is to ensure a positive school experience for students and families and a smooth transition in September. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Arrival and Dismissal Safety
Please call the school's attendance line (1-855-257-9349) if your child is going to be late or absent. Our attendance system is automated and will call you if we do not know the reason for your child's absence or late arrival. You can also report an absence using the SchoolMessenger app.
- Park only in designated spots. *No parking or stopping in the bus lane at the south side of the school* Please do not drive into the playground area.
- Do not drop your child off before 8:55 am as there is no supervision until that time.
- Wait for your child at the front entrance of the school at the end of the day.
- Dismissal is at 3:30 and students will be dismissed at this time. *If end of day bus or pick up plans change, please make sure to let the office know as early as possible in order to make sure there is time to notify your child and staff*
- If your child is registered to ride a bus we ask that you not drive them to and from school on a regular basis as this will help limit the amount of car traffic and congestion at the busiest times of the day.
If you wish to speak to staff members, please remember that during the school day we are focused on creating the best learning opportunities for all of our students and we do our best to keep interruptions to a minimum. We ask you to please call ahead to arrange a meeting or set a time that's best to connect on the phone.
If you are in the school at the end of the day for pick up, please wait at the office for your child. Our youngest students will be handed off to parents by staff while bus students are dismissed through their appropriate doors.
Students leaving school before the end of the day will need to be signed out by an adult at the front office. We encourage families to avoid unnecessary early pick ups in order to minimize disruptions to teaching and learning.
