Attendance

School attendance is a critical component of success in schools. If your child is out ill, please contact the school attendance line. (209) 858-7256.

Students arriving late to school must report directly to the office for an admittance slip to permit accurate attendance and lunch count.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Student safety continues to be our top priority. Arrival and dismissal times are extremely busy at the school site.

Campus supervision begins at 7:35. Please do not have students on campus before this time. Students need to walk directly to their designated line. Staff will direct students where to line up the first few days of school.

All students should be picked up promptly at dismissal time.

There will be 3 arrival and dismissal locations:

  • UTK - 1st Grade: O Street Gate
  • 2nd - 4th: Front of the School Drop-off Zone
  • 5th - 8th: Thomsen Street Gate

*Siblings are allowed to choose one gate to enter and exit together.

Front of the School Drop-off Zone: Parents may not get out of their cars in this line as it creates a safety hazard and blocks traffic. Students must enter the car from the sidewalk (passenger's side). At no time should students be walking into the parking lot unless with an adult using the designated crosswalks. Please pull all the way up to the very first Line-Up Sign.

Designated crosswalks need to be used at all times for the safety of our students.

In order to keep all pedestrians safe please remember:

  • Drive slow and watch for students walking.
  • Do not use your cell phone while driving. The less distractions the better.
  • Stop and follow crossing guards directions.
  • Use cross walks at all times.

The Warrior Way: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an approach to teaching and supporting positive behaviors, and meeting the needs of all students. This approach focuses on building a safe and positive environment in which all students can learn. The foundation of PBIS at Lathrop Elementary School are the three school-wide expectations: • Be Safe • Be Respectful • Be Responsible

To be successful, our behavior program needs to be a partnership between home and school. Throughout the school year, the PBIS team will send updates and information about PBIS.
