LAKE VICTORIA

Lake Victoria is the Nile rivers main source. It is a giant lake and is the largest tropical lake in the world. It is the worlds second largest fresh water lake. The only one that is bigger is Lake Superior in North America.

ASWAN HIGH DAM

The Aswan Dam was built in the 1960 - 1970. It is located in Aswan, Egypt. It is also right by the Nile River. This dam was built because the Nile River has flooded every late summer since. This dam uses turbines and it does not pollute the water but, it did kill a lot of fish.

Lake tana

Lake Tana is the largest lake in Ethiopia and it is also the source of the Blue Nile. There is 37 islands that are scattered about the surface of the lake. A sail or cruise on Lake Tana is one of the most pleasant excursions for visitors to this region.

Lake Sudd

It is a vast swamp formed by the White Nile. It's one of the largest swamps in the world. It is also one of the largest tropical wetlands in the world. The water on Lake Sudd is pretty dirty.
