FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
I pray this newsletter finds you well and enjoying some rest during these summer months! We have a busy few weeks coming up with our Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, August 4th, followed by our third session of Best Summer Break Camp the week of August 9th through the 13th. I'm looking forward to seeing campers back on school grounds!
There's quite a bit of information included in the updates below, so I would encourage you to take a few moments to carefully review the details!
2020-2021 Third Annual School Alumni Appeal
Over the last two years here at Father Doyle, I have been continually amazed by the support and generosity of our school community including current families, parishioners, alumni, and friends of the school far and wide. Our Third Annual School Alumni Appeal, conducted November 2020 through June 2021, is no exception. I am thrilled to report that it was the most successful Appeal so far, raising a total of $48,460.00 from alumni and friends of the school! As promised, the funds raised from the 2020-2021 Appeal were used to install a FlexCourt outdoor multi-sport court on top of the elementary side play area. With funds from our 2021 School Auction, we are now able to completely finish the court by installing Hoops, Fencing and other accessories (the Hoops are actually going in this coming week)!
Attached below is a list of all we have been able to accomplish through the generosity of our Appeal Donors over the past three years. We also would like to thank all the Ss. John and Paul Parishioners who donate to the monthly FJVD School Sunday Second Collection, which helps pay for the general upkeep, maintenance, and operation of our school. May the Lord bless all our benefactors for their generosity!
COVID-19 Guidance Updates
Please see the document regarding an update on our Return to School Plan that was shared with families via email. You can find that information here.
In addition, a reminder that we will be holding a School Community Town Hall Meeting via Zoom on August 4th beginning at 7:00pm. Please note that we have decided to use the Zoom format in order to accommodate those families who may be traveling over the summer months or have who may have difficulty arranging for childcare. The Zoom link will be sent via email prior to the meeting.
Introducing FACTS Family Portal Training
We're excited to launch the FACTS Family Portal for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year! This will be your central location for school information including school announcements, calendar, Newsletters, and grades for our middle school students, plus much more!
In order to ensure our families are comfortable using the platform, we will host four training sessions:
- Tuesday, August 10th, 4:00pm - PK-5 Families
- Thursday, August 12th, 7:00pm - PK-5 Families
- Monday, August 16th, 4:00pm - 6-8 Families
- Thursday, August 19th, 7:00pm - 6-8 Families
Click on the date you wish to attend to RSVP. Please note that pre-registration is required, as Zoom links will only be sent to registered families.
You only need to attend one session, as each session will cover the same material. If you have students across the grade level spans, you are encouraged to attend only a middle school (6-8) session.
Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!
Are You Interested in Becoming an FJVD Family Ambassador?
As we look ahead to the start of another great year at Father Doyle, we're excited to welcome many new families to our FJVD community. In an effort to help welcome these families and ensure a smooth transition to our school, the PTO is coordinating a Family Ambassador Program. Last week, families received an email seeking current FJVD families who may be interested in serving as Ambassadors for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are interested in participating as an Ambassador and have not yet signed up, please fill out the form here:
Do You Have a New Student Attending Father Doyle This Year?
Whether you are welcoming another child/sibling to our school, or your family is entirely new to your community, you are invited to our New Family Social being held August 17th! Click the survey link below to RSVP.
The survey link also includes information about our Ambassador Program for New Families. If your family is new to our school community and would be interested in connecting with an Ambassador Family to help make your transition to FJVD as smooth as possible, please complete the corresponding questions in the survey. Thank you!

Got Ink?
Reduce Waste and Help our School!
Do you have used ink cartridges at home? Father Doyle School is partnering with Planet Green Recycling to recycle use ink cartridges. The best part? It's entirely hassle free - all you have to do is drop your ink used ink cartridges off in the main office. We'll package and ship them to Planet Green, who ensures cartridges are properly recycled. This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!

- You purchase the cards from the school, paying face value and spending the same dollars you would have paid to the stores directly
- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 check!

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
