SCHOOL NEWS
FIELD TRIPS
Sycamore recognizes that there are multitudes
of learning resources outside of school walls
that can enhance education through hands-on,
meaningful experiences. Therefore, field trips
that are educational in nature may
be arranged.
Field trips are not to be considered “outings” or
days off from school. They are, in fact,
extensions of the curriculum and of the school. Therefore, all field trips will be educational in nature and will be related to the subject matter and the objectives of instruction at the particular grade level. Field trips are lessons.
Appropriate instruction will precede and/or follow each field trip. No student will be allowed to participate in a field trip without the permission of a parent and a completed “Medical Authorization” form in Final Forms. Written permission slips will be sent home by the classroom teacher several days prior to the trip. Parents should sign and return the permission slip promptly.

PTO PRESIDENT’S REPORT
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
We have several KEY chair positions open, that must be filled, for next school year so the PTO can continue to run the amazing programs and activities at Montgomery Elementary!
Key committees such as Carnival, Fall Family Fun Night (Bingo), and Spring Family Fun Night (International) are all currently without either chairs or co-chairs!!
If you have a chair position in mind, are interested in additional information, or would just like to sign up to volunteer please contact Paaras Parker, at Paaras.Parker2@kroger.com .
---------------
Our next General PTO Meeting is Thursday, May 16th at 9:30am! Join us for the volunteer brunch as a special thank you for all you do to help and support the PTO!
We will also be voting to approve committee chairs for next year’s PTO at the May General Meeting.
Please follow our private Facebook group, “Montgomery Elementary PTO” to learn about upcoming events and see photos of your children having fun experiences at school.
The PTO would not be able to do what we do without our amazing volunteers, parents, teachers, and staff. If you would please take a moment to fill out the Montgomery Elementary PTO Questionnaire we would greatly appreciate your feedback.
We were able to bestow some amazing “gifts” during our Spring Special Requests thanks to your continued generosity. Thanks again to everyone for all that you do to make Montgomery the amazing school that it is!

Hassle FREE MONEY for Montgomery Elementary
Did you know that the school has partnered with businesses in the community to have
those businesses donate money directly to Montgomery Elementary for the
everyday items you purchase?
Here’s how it works:
Register your Kroger Plus Card – If you enroll your Kroger Plus card in the Kroger Community Rewards Program on www.krogercommunityrewards.com and select Montgomery Elementary PTO (VP832), you will automatically earn dollars for the school based on the purchases you are already making.
(Anyone with a Kroger Plus card can do this….don’t forget to ask friends and family members if they would like to help Montgomery Elementary earn money.)
Collect Pipkin’s Receipts - Save your Pipkin’s receipts. Send the receipts to school in a marked envelope to your homeroom teacher. Pipkins will donate a percentage of those receipts directly to the PTO!
Collect Box Tops - Box Tops for Education can be found on various household products. Look for the symbol, and save Box Tops or visit: www.boxtops4education.com/earn/participating-products . Please begin clipping and mark your calendars for our Spring Box Top collection, April 18 – May 3. Students should turn Box Tops in to their homeroom teacher. The class that collects the most Box Tops will get a Pajama Day and special treat.
Remember: Your child may also ask other special people in their lives (grandparents, aunts/uncles, friends/neighbors) to clip/save their Box Tops and Pipkin’s receipts for them too. This is a great way to boost their collection and an easy way for loved ones to support our school!
Bus Walk Bike day at EH Greene is Thursday, April 18 (rain date is May 9). All Greene students will have an opportunity to arrive at school on foot or bike. Please be aware that there will be a significant increase in the number of pedestrians and bicyclists throughout many of our neighborhoods between the hours of 7:15-8:30 am and again after 3:00 pm. Be sure to share the road!
Only TWO WEEKS until opening night of the Symmes Player production of James and the Giant Peach, JR. Promised to be a fun performance for all ages. Performances are at the Sycamore Junior High School. Buy your tickets today to reserve your spot!
