East Coventry Elementary News and Information for the Week of June 5th

As this is the last Principal's Pen for this school year, I wanted to take a moment and share some of my appreciation.

The successes that we experienced this year were the collective efforts of many individuals and groups. Our PTO aligned its goals with those of the school. They focused their efforts on providing and supporting our students through experiences that helped to foster a positive school environment. Thank you to the outgoing slate of officers who served on the executive PTO board: Brittney Ehrenzeller (President for 2 years), Alicia Desrosiers (VP for 2 years), Erin Harris (Secretary for 2 years), and Riji Paul (VP for 1 year). You ladies are amazing! Additionally, I'd like to thank Nikki Young and Laurie Schauer for their efforts. I look forward to continuing to work with these ladies as they will be staying on next year's PTO board.

I'd like to thank the entire EC staff for their dedication to the success of our students. I have not ever had the chance to work with such an amazing group of individuals who understand the importance of promoting academic and behavioral student success. Thank you!

Finally, my appreciation goes to all of the EC families! Thank you for walking beside us and supporting us. Personally speaking, I appreciate the hundreds of views each week that my communication receives. This reassures me that our families our families value the importance of staying abreast of the happenings of the school. The successes that we experienced this year would not have happened if it were not for all of our EC families. Thank you!

I wish everyone a nice summer that hopefully includes some time to relax and enjoy.

This past Friday, all students at EC had a chance to enjoy the events during our annual field day. PE/Health teachers Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Meyers planned and organized the day's activities that included fun events and opportunities to cool off with water stations. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped make the day a success!

Congratulations to the entire class of OJR Seniors who will be graduating this coming Friday evening. We share in your excitement as we have had a chance to see many of you begin with us in kindergarten and grow into such fine young adults. Thank you to all of the graduates who had a chance to visit EC this past week and allow us to share in your celebration.

As we put the lid on another school year, below are some dates that should help you plan for a successful start of the next school year.

• June 28th: AM/PM Kinder sections announced
• July 20th: School Supply Lists will be available
• August 14th - 17th: KinderCamp
• August 18th: Homeroom Assignments announced
• August 28th: First Day of School

Look for more information in August about other dates and events.

Beginning the week of June 19th, the EC Office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8AM-3PM. The District is closed on Fridays throughout the summer as a cost-saving measure.

Any items left behind will be available in the EC lobby that will remain open the same hours as the office.
