A volcano is a mountain filled with with magma, witch is under pressure and soon will erupt and become lava.
The Rest of the Story
Pompeii, the home of Mt. Vesuvius, is in Italy. On August 24th, 79 AD, Mt. Vesuvius erupted for the first time in 1800. The city was preserved by volcanic ash. The ash covered the city and the people, preserving the people's body as they suffecated and 2000 people are thought to have died. the remains were not discovered until 1748.
