The Tison Choir students performed wonderfully at their UIL meet this past Wednesday (March 8)!

The Tenor Bass Choir earned a SUPERIOR rating for Concert and an EXCELLENT rating for Sight Reading. The non-varsity Treble Choir earned a SUPERIOR rating for Concert and an EXCELLENT rating for Sight Reading.

The varsity Treble Choir earned a SUPERIOR rating in Concert and a SUPERIOR rating in Sign Reading...resulting in the highly coveted UIL Sweepstakes Award!

Ms. Richards is extremely proud of her students, and wants to thank everyone for their support. She sends a special thanks to Laura Baird (Tison teacher) and April Page (Tison band director) for their help on Wednesday.

Congratulations to the Tison Tennis Team on their first win of the spring season! Tison defeated the Azle Hornets 11-8, which was a great upset from last season. Conner Halverson clenched the win for the team, and newcomer, Olivia Williams, was a force to be reckoned with! All of the Tison Tennis players fought hard, and several of the matches were extremely close. Congatulations again, T3! Coach Light is so proud of you all.

We hope that you come out and watch Tison play Hall the Tuesday after spring break! We will play at the NGC starting at 4 PM.

The Tison PTA president received a confirmation that our first Box Tops for Education submission was processed and the school will receive its first check for $120.40 in April! She has received many more box tops, and will submit another batch in May, even though Tison won't receive another check until December (the Box Tops for Education organization disperses checks once in December and once in April).

Her message to everyone -- KEEP COLLECTING BOX TOPS!

The UIL coaches are truly thankful for and very proud of all the Tison students who made the commitment to work hard all year and then do their best at the UIL academic meet on February 14 and 17. For their effort, they earned an ice cream social!

Pre-ordering a yearbook is the best method to guarantee your student will receive one this year, since the yearbook staff uses pre-order sales to determine how many to have printed. The yearbook staff will have a small number printed for those who choose to purchase in May, but quantities will be limited and the cost of the yearbook will be at its most expensive - $50.

To order your student a yearbook now, you can go to www.balfour.com and choose "Tison Middle School". If you would rather pay by cash or check, you can pick up an application at the Tison front office or just email the yearbook sponsor, Leslie Fenton (lfenton@weatherfordisd.com), for instructions.

One Friday morning each month, the Tison STACI class, along with their parents, enjoy breakfast at the R & K restaurant in Hudson Oaks. The students in the STACI program have enjoyed this ritual for many years. However, this past Friday (March 3), the ritual was made a little sweeter with a random act of kindness.

While finishing up their breakfast, Ms. Parsons, the STACI teacher, was informed by their waitress that the bill for the very large table (which is usually split up among the families and teachers) had been completely covered by an unknown fellow R & K breakfast eater.

Ms. Parson's still has no idea who paid their breakfast bill that morning, but that random act of kindness touched the hearts of every STACI teacher, parent, and student in attendance, and their hope is to get the chance to pay it forward!

Zoo Run Flyer created by Michaela Bosco & Isabella Vandygriff

Fort Worth Zoo Run

The 20th annual Zoo Run is coming up on Saturday, April 1st, and Tison is hoping to put together a school group for the event. What is the Zoo Run? You run, walk, or jog your way through the Zoo and surrounding neighborhoods to help support the Fort Worth zoo's conservation and education efforts. It is a 5K course that begins at 8 AM, but it is recommended to arrive earlier because of parking.

If you are interested in participating, just go to the Fort Worth Zoo Run website (https://www.fortworthzoo.org/zoo-run) and click to register. You will want to register as a team and find "Tison Middle School".

The registration cost is $20 and you must register by March 17th. TISON MUST HAVE AT LEAST 10 STUDENT REGISTRANTS IN ORDER TO MAKE A SCHOOL TEAM!

If you have any questions, please email Erin Light at elight@weatherfordisd.com.
